  1. I think you could throw Loretta on the bench of an All Times Brewer team; but nothing more than that. He was definitely a good versatile player in his day.
  2. Thanks for all the suggestions. Right now I think Coquette looks in the lead; that menu looks great. I wish I lived closer to MIL so I could check all these places out soon.
  3. That does look like it is up our alley; I will have to run the menu by the better half to see what she thinks.
  4. It is the wife and I's 5 year anniversary coming up in June and we wanted to hit up a new place for a nice dinner. So I am asking for recommendations for nice & relately quiet restuarant in the Milwaukee area. We don't want kids running around but it doesn't have to be some black tie place either. We are open to any type of cousine; preferable if we could keep the bill manageable (Like under $100). We definitely like funkier unique places. I have done some research online but nothing really stands out.
  5. Which begs the question? How do these big corporate sponsors actually make any money off of these naming rights deals? What does BMO actually hope to get from this? Its not like they need the name recognition.
  6. Also would have like to see Lucroy in there. Its not like Kottaras is a horrible sub; but you have to ride the hot hand. Lucroy will probably double switch into the game in the 7th inning anyways.
  7. Now if only the Brewers didn't suck so we could take advantage of the Cards misfortune.........
  8. Well what would have been the point of benching Rickie? Let Green and Maysonet play 2nd everyday? Yay? RR has played the Weeks situation fine. The Brewers need Rickie to be successful and just benching him isn't going to fix anything. With as bad as our bench is right now; RR doesn't have a whole lot of viable options that would allow him to sit players that are struggling. Aram is 30 something years old; he has played everyday since last Thursday (I think); no big deal sitting either IMO. People may not like the Sunday lineups but many many managers do it so obviously there is a reason for it. He doesn't do it just to piss the fans off. And in the end it probably wont matter because this is just a bad team right now.
  9. Well they could trade Grienke and try to resign him in the offseason. There seems to be no chance of resigning him during the season so you might as well try to get some prospects for him. I doubt Grienke would be so off put by being traded that he wouldn't consider signing with MIL. 2012 has just been one colossal failure so far and no one really could have predicted so many players getting hurt and under performing. We literally have 5 or 6 guys out of a 25 man roster that I think have played to expectations or better. I am fully prepared to chalk up 2012 as just one of those years and do whatever you can to make 2013 better. I would say that if they don't make significant improvement by the end of June, Melvin needs to start unloading some pieces like Marcum, Hart, Grienke, Krod if the trade market allows it.
  10. Could Das speak publically about the Braun case now that he is no longer employed by MLB? I am guessing not for fear of getting sued by MLB but I guess a man can hope. He is hearing the Bounty Gate appeal for the NFL as well; the guy is very highly respected at what he does. MLB could spin the firing any way they want but everyone knows why they did it.
  11. Most NFL teams that make the playoffs have a legitimate shot at winning a title because they are actually a good team. Only 12 of 32 teams make the playoffs. In the NBA that bottom seeds are extremely mediocre teams that have no real shot of winning the title and are just hoping to wins some games and/or a series and get some playoff revenue. 1/2 of the league makes the playoffs; it is a little ridiculous. That is the difference.
  12. The team probably just likes the sauce a little too much; 12 PM is way to early
  13. So Izturis needs to do something useful for us to win the game? I'll believe he can do it when I see it. I am calling weak ground out to SS
  14. If its not one thing its always the other. In about 2 games this year the offense, defense, SP, and RP actually all worked in the same game. I guess it was Axford's time to screw up.
  15. What young players have been handled so poorly? Its not like any of these guys are Top 50 prospects that he is "screwing up" They are borderline guys that may or may not turn into useful players. I would tend to go to the veterans in that situation too. I assume you are referring to Green for the most part.
  16. I don't think anyone was advocating putting Lucroy ahead of Gamel. Gonzalez maybe.
  17. Well the problem is that Weeks, Morgan, and Aoki are all hitting terribly right now and someone has to hit #1 and #2. Its not like you can throw Green, Izturis, or whoever up there. Will all the injuries and poor performances I don't know that we can afford to move Weeks down because no one deserves to be moved up.
  18. Echo the sentiments that both are well deserved. Melvin has struck a good balance of being in Win Now mode while also keeping significant members of the team around long term. To date he hasn't traded a minor leaguer that amounted to anything (Lawrie might be the first). RR seems to be a great leader/motivator and has developed his in game managing quite a bit over his first Year +. This season has started out a little rough; but with all the injuries and terrible performances there isn't a whole lot RR or Melvin can do at this point. Just ride it out and hope the likes of Weeks, Morgan, Aram, Gallardo, Wolf, Etc just figure it out
  19. I think it is pretty darn unlikely that a new NBA arena would be financed in a similar fashion to Miller Park. The Miller Park tax barely got passed; and finances on all levels have only gotten worse since that time. Unless Kohl plans on putting in way more than I expect him to I anticipate this being a long shot. Doesn't the Miller Park tax have more than a couple years left anyways? They could try to model the Vikings stadium plan and tax the casinos; I have no idea how that would go over in WI though.
  20. He has been on the restricted list the entire year; there are obvious problems that are not allowing him to compete right now. If you need to open a spot on the 40 man you might as well cut the guy that isn't even playing and by all accounts isn't prepared to play anytime soon.
  21. So then what is Taco Bell? I don't think Mexico wants to take credit for that food; although delicous.
  22. Gallardo is the only legitimate SP we have drafted since Ben Sheets. Pretty sad. And before Sheets it was ?
  23. My bet is on Conrad with some sort of a 3 man platoon with Hart, Conrad, and Ishikawa with Aoki getting quite a bit more time in the OF when Hart is at 1B. Not the ideal situation; really wish we had a legitimate 1B prospect to go to. Hunter Morris is the closest thing and he really isn't ready.
  24. Its one thing to say your are going to pitch inside; its quite another to actually do it succesfully. Very few pitchers effectivly pitch inside anymore just because the risk is to great if you don't have pinpoint control Miss either way and the end result will be a free base runner or a meatball down the plate. I haven't noticed any obvious difference in the way he has been pitched thus far. When he was struggling before it really wasn't anything the pitchers were doing; he just wasn't seeing the ball.
