  1. The armchair psychology about booing on Brewerfan is mind-boggling.
  2. Tony LaRussa has pinkeye! Going to work with a communicable illness = classy. http://blogs.riverfrontti...a_russa_face_pinkeye.php http://blogs.riverfronttimes.com/dailyrft/tony%20la%20russa%20face.jpg
  3. Late to the party in this thread but....it's not exactly like we kept Yadier Molina, either.
  4. There's no better way to show off somebody's SS skills than to show a highlight of them playing 2B. Edit: Nice play, though! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  5. I just see the complaining as pointless. Nobody makes trades on April 18th. Expecting anything to get done before June is foolish, and there's nobody in our minor league system that is a viable solution.
  6. I think people are understating the value of the 5th OF a bit. It's not like this person is going to sit on the bench all of the time. Look at the 2009 Brewers - Frank Catalanotto appeared in nearly half the team's games and made 162 plate appearances. Boggs would absolutely get opportunities to hit even after Hart returns.
  7. Uh...guys? I think it stopped breathing. http://www.douchebagreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/Beating_a_dead_horse.jpg I've resigned myself to enjoying this season, with the understanding that our shortstop is flawed and the expectation that this situation will be addressed by mid-July.
  8. Especially when the proposed solution is to bat McGehee, a guy who drove in 100 runs last year, in the 8th spot. Anyone who quotes RBIs is a joke in my book. RBIs is the most worthless stat in baseball. Have guys on ahead of you and you are bound to get RBIs.Fine. Then it's stupid to bat a guy with a 116 OPS+ in the 8th spot.

  10. Semi-related: is it DiFelice's status as a "ROOGY" that is keeping him from getting a shot? He had a pretty decent spring (more K's than Kintzler in fewer innings) and has thrown 3 hitless, walkless innings so far in Nashville. I understand the logic (that Kintzler is more apt to have success against lefties) but it sucks to have a guy with a proven track record in MLB not get the opportunity.
  11. Great to hear. Since Extra Innings is still doing their free preview week on cable, I've been watching that (in standard def) and hoping that all the MLB.TV bugs get worked out by the end of the week. Sounds like they are making progress.
  12. It's a known issue, according to the MLB.tv support forums (in which you'll find many complaints from users). I have a PS3 and a Roku box, and neither is functioning the way they should. Roku had the same performance issues last year....it's somewhat better this year, but frankly if you promote a service and sell it to me for $130, is it too much to ask that it actually work as intended. Frustrating.
  13. Are they buying jokes from Rick Reilly? I loved "Cheap Seats", but wow...
  14. Just wanted to say, +1 to using "YuBet" as a nickname instead of "Yuni". http://www.thewho.info/images/YBYB-HUNGss.jpg
  15. I think you're maybe unaware of how the kids are using the phrase "blow up" these days. It means a good thing.
  16. I was looking up Keppinger's stats the other day and got a good laugh from the sponsor of his b-ref page. That message in itself puts me in favor of signing him.
  17. Damn it. I came here to make that joke. Well played, sir.
  18. The .356 OBP Dickerson has put up over his small sample is better than we can probably expect from Gomez. Much, much better with slightly worse defense.Yeah but .222 and .250 over the past two years? Again, small sample size in terms of PAs, but the inflated OBP is based on what he did 3 and 4 years ago. If he were still 24 or 25, I would have more hope he was capable of bouncing back to that - but he's not. I still don't get it. I get the "meh" but not the hate for this trade. You're misreading his stat line. In 2009 (2 years ago), he had a .370 OBP in 299 major league plate appearances. In 2010, he had a combined OBP of .250 - .222 with the Reds, and .271 with the Brewers - in an injury-plagued season.
  19. If Boggs and Kotsay aren't the backup OF's, I'm busting out the Doug Melvin dartboard.
  20. DiFelice, because his bullpen entrance music was awesome. "The Difelice, he lives inside of my head..."
  21. Plus, more than half of his board posts are about eating Taco Bell after practice. I'm not seeing the conflict of ethics.
  22. http://www.fistedfoul.com/storage/Tony-Larussa.jpg?__SQUARESPACE_CACHEVERSION=1273523544618
  23. After the Dave Kerwin incident and this, I feel it's safe to assume that Kendall has taken just a few too many foul balls to the helmet.
  24. Whatever gave you that impression? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif http://yogibrewer.mlblogs.com/my_weblog/images/not_again.jpg
