  1. They settled for an easy checkdown. If we had done that (instead of another stupid low percentage deep ball), we would have made a 52 yarder instead of missing a 56 yarder and giving them the ball at mid field.
  2. The Cardinals' uniforms look like Christmas pajamas.
  3. - Gio Gonzalez / Woodruff - Wade Miley - Jhoulys Chacín
  4. One positive: No pre-snap penalties in the first half?
  5. Doubs wide open 1 yard past the yard to gain, right in the middle of the field ... too simple for the fancy Packers offense looking for something more impressive on 3rd down, I guess. Sigh.
  6. MLF just loves those telegraphed WR screens that go for no gain or a loss. Such drive killers.
  7. Wouldn't that be a wash with losing prime time in the LA market, though?
  8. For tomorrow's 2-game schedule, why would MLB do a 3pm PT start and an 8pm CT start when they could just do something like 6pm CT and 7pm PT starts instead?
  9. As an MST3K fan who's apparently never seen this particular episode, this is amazing...
  10. Feel ya. They were my pick, too. But I can buy back in, so a $25 setback. Pretty ridiculous, TEN had no business winning that one... - Cards player has easy TD but hotdogs it and drops ball just before crossing the goal line. Was relatively late in the game, woulda made it an insurmountable 21 point lead. - Cards player intercepts, then proceeds to fumble, then the Cards kick it around until TEN falls on it for a TD. Was late in the game with Cards up 9, INT essentially ices it. - Not on the same level, but earlier in the game, I believe a routine shotgun snap was just inexplicably dropped by Murray, resulting in a turnover. Just some unbelievably terrible unforced errors. Gift after gift after gift to TEN. (I live in market so had the pleasure of watching it all unravel in real time.) ETA: And all this despite the Cards being the home team, too.
  11. I thought the 4 minute offense in that last drive was masterful ... until the bubble screen on 1st & 10 w/ 30 seconds left (that's so LaFleur, and incredibly frustrating) and then the awful checkdown into the flat on the next play (should've just thrown incomplete there). I know the clock doesn't matter if you score a TD, but the clock does matter if you find yourself in 4th down and need to settle for a FG. Especially with a kicker on the other team known for drilling 60+ FGs.
  12. Referring to the chart in the original post? There's also the #15 Astros and #24 Mariners outside of the top ten, no?
  13. Completing the trifecta of WI sports HOFers donning #4...
  14. Any escape might help to smooth The unattractive truth But the suburbs have no charms to soothe The restless dreams of youth
  15. Piggybacking on this thread instead of starting a new one... This video that just posted to YouTube is pretty awesome. Guy in London randomly acquires a t-shirt from a Brewers-connected bar in the shadow of County Stadium / Miller Park (Cesar's Inn, aka the bar owned by Harvey Kuenn in the heyday), travels to MKE to find it, and makes a lovely 20-minute documentary video about the city, the team, the fans, and his overall experience.
  16. Updating for 50 games as a Brewer (stats x3)... 69 runs, 168 hits, 27 doubles, 27 HR, 123 RBI, 51 walks, and 93 strikeouts. ... And on the averages now hitting .308/.371/.505/.876. I didn't realize Vaughn had 0 HR in the last 20+ games. Not since Aug 15?
  17. So that substantiates Jimbo's comment? Not Uecker? Edit: FWIW, I also had heard the same story behind the call as Jimbo.
  18. >> The Milwaukee #Brewers are set to recall LHP Robert Gasser to start Sunday. Gasser will only be available to go 3-4 innings? Looks like his last three starts at NSH were just 3.0, 2.0, and 4.0 IP. Only 1 ER in those 9 innings, but 9 H and 4 BB.
  19. Updating for 30 games in as a Brewer (stats x5)... 90 runs, 180 hits, 25 doubles, 45 HR, 175 RBI (!), 60 walks, and 90 strikeouts. ... And on the averages now hitting .330/.395/.624/1.019.
  20. Wasn't their expansion year 1962, in which they lost 100 games? (Then, 8 seasons later, they won 100 games and the World Series in 1969.)
  21. Did we know about there being a past connection between Jason Lane and Andrew Vaughn, with Lane advocating for his acquisition? From BA in this interview at the ~5:22 mark:
  22. Players or fans? Just curious, what in particular looks terrible?
  23. 15 games logged with the Brewers at this point and hitting .375/.439/.771/1.209. Lazy math to multiply x10 for an entire season's production and the counting stats look like 100 runs, 180 hits, 40 doubles, 50 HR, 210 RBI (!), 70 walks, and 70 strikeouts. Incredible.
