  1. I think Weimer's style with extreme motion all through his body even with no swing just totally fooled the ump. He went over to Counsell to talk between innings. Sorta seemed like it might've been an apology.
  2. The strike called on Wiemer on his check swing by home plate ump without appeal to 1st.... At the ballpark, it seemed egregiously bad. Yay/nay?
  3. If anyone is interested, I have an extra ticket for today's game in Club Outfield section 312. Just PM me your Ballpark App email address and I can transfer to you. (I'll update here if/when ticket is no longer available.)
  4. From an opportunity cost standpoint, at least it's not a significant salary that could have been used elsewhere. (Contract details: "$1 million [in 2023], $1.25 million in 2024 and then $3.25 million in 2025, $5.5 million in 2026 and $7.5 million in 2027...") Missing out on his potential contributions this year is still a pretty decent loss, and losing the development time is certainly not ideal.
  5. Yeah, I'd have him in my top 5 and he's not even in the Honorable Mention. Weird omission.
  6. Jesse Winker on MLB Hot Stove - Jesse Winker discusses American Family Field's appeal, his reaction to being traded to the Brewers, being familiar with the NL Central and more... https://www.mlb.com/video/jesse-winker-s-current-mindset
  7. Frustrating. Too bad it couldn't have been a fair-and-square loss. Instead, an official's mistake disallows a Preds goal, blowing the game and giving Pitt the cup in game 6. After the highly questionable overturn of the series' first goal -- with the slimmest of evidence -- that would have given the Preds a huge momentum burst out of the gate in game 1, it makes you wonder. There is no justice in sports, sometimes. Interesting that it was Hornquist with the tying goal ... oops, go-ahead goal.
  8. Pekka stops 38 shots! Former Admirals score all six goals. Preds punch their ticket to the Stanley Cup Finals. What a night.
  9. Despite this AND no Mike Fisher also due to injury, bigtime win tonight at Anaheim to go up 3-2 in the series. Helped that the Ducks had to deal with a couple injury issues of their own. Admirals star Aberg with the game winner. One win away from the Stanley Cup Finals. Hopefully they can close things out Monday night in Nashville.
  10. Preds up 2-0 on FIBs, with former Admirals getting it done. Hopefully no letdown heading back to NSH. Get at least one of those games, then just 1 of the remaining 3. A sweep works, too. Pekka, my goodness...
