  1. Brewers have scored at least a run in 12 of the 20 innings so far this series.
  2. What would it sound like to lift the vocal track from a really crappy, annoying pop song and drop it into a killer power metal arrangement? Answer:
  3. Losing 5 of 6 at home to mediocre (or worse) teams is about as pathetic as it can get. Absolutely embarassing showing from the Brewers this week.
  4. It doesn't stand a snowball's chance, but Harden should be coming off the DL really soon. If we're going to count Webb as a possibility, I'll toss out the name of Justin Duchscherer ... I think he's on about the same timetable.
  5. That's not a very fair response to Kaukana's post, most of which was chock full of "I hope I'm wrong", "I'm sure the sources are strong", and "I might just be getting antsy". The tone of "this site was wrong once before" was a little strange, but the context of the entire post was a lot more than just J. Weeks blunder = site not to be trusted. Now, on to naivin's suggestion about Eckstein. Let the battle begin!
  6. Are you saying the roof was closed today? If so, that's beyond ridiculous and more than a little embarassing.
  7. Is there anything really worse about the Atlanta game than the first two of this series? Didn't we have a 2 run lead in all three of those games? The first two against Colorado are more painful to me since they were at home. And is Colorado really that "hot". They haven't really put up a lot of runs and they haven't played great defense. It feels like the whole series comes down to our hitters being monumentally disappointing, nothing more.
  8. I nominate the quote in my signature for your Quotes page. Perhaps with a bit more context. Statements like that, not sugar-coating things, are what make me a fan of the guy.
  9. Absolutely pathetic response to Sunday's tough loss. Looper pitches his heart out and the offense contributes nothing. Guess one off day wasn't enough for our hitters. Disgraceful showing in front of the home crowd. Hope they turn it around quickly, 'cos it's not going to get any easier against the White Sox and sooner or later the Cubs are going to start winning games.
  10. Yes, our pick at #39. I think that was the first one I heard that wasn't praised.
  11. Unless this is one of the ways the NBA is subsidizing the WNBA. 3,000 actual people buying tickets and walking thorugh the gate, 5,000 extra tickets purchased by the NBA or given away as freebies (and never used) to boost attendance to ~8,000 per game. I only say this because the handful of times the WNBA has been on my TV screen it hasn't looked remotely close to 8,000 people.
  12. This place is deader than Land Shark stadium. Top of the third inning and only three posts in the IGT and only one person in chat.
  13. I think the Pirates signed him to a modest three year contract before the start of this season. That didn't last long. Anxious to hear others' thoughts on those three prospects.
  14. First two posts of the thread. I think Soto could still be quite scary, don't know what's up with this sophomore slump of his. In his third season, he might be too old for this thread, but Hunter Pence scares me 'cos you just know that weird-looking twerp is going to do something at the plate against us -- likely a cheap infield hit. I've been sick of him from day one.
  15. One of the themes of this thread seems to certainly be whether or not, for the good of the Brewers, Parra should be getting MLB or AAA starts in near future. The Brewers' record this season in Parra's starts would seem to have something to do with that discussion.
  16. Folks in the chatroom last night called it, congrats. I thought DM would be too stubborn/patient to literally see the guy cut the next day. I think it's a good sign about our organization.
  17. Already brought up earlier in the thread at post #19 and a ruling was made in #24.
  18. Didn't think about it 'til now, but pretty coincidental that SD went from Hell's Bells to Heath Bell.
  19. Hey, they have TGJ now ... and Heath Bell is 14 for 14 in save opportunities, has a 0.46 ERA, and is giving up less than 1 walk or hit per IP.
  20. 4 @ FLA (2-2) 3 @ATL (1-2) 3 vs COL (1-2) 3 vs CWS (1-2) 3 @ CLE (2-1) 3 @ DET (1-2) 3 vs MIN (2-1) 3 vs SF (2-1) 3 vs NYM (0-3) 12 - 16 11 HRs
  21. Or, like Billy Squier, he will more than live up to the hype. I like Mat the Batt. Also digging MGD, nicely done MadisonBrewerBlue. Gamel Toe is totally a giggle-with-your-frat-friends kindof deal ... a'la va-JJ. Submitted for your approval: Mat Gamer. Woulda been better under Yost's reign, but I still like it.
  22. Dominant rebounder and a pretty good scorer and passer as well. I might be a bit biased because I absolutely hated the guy -- and the Lopez bros -- in college and haven't paid the slightest attention to his (their) NBA game, but seriously you're saying Love's rookie year ability to stand in the lane like an oaf and grab a few boards and dish the ball a bit in the paint rivals Redd's immense and repeated talent for quick catch & shoot jumpers and his ability to be absolutely lights out from the outside?
