  1. bklyn, you seem to be implying that somehow Sheets leaving is connected to trading for Sabathia, which doesn't make any sense. We have the same ability to sign Sheets (or not) that we did before the trade.
  2. On an emotional level, I'd love to see Sheets come back. On the other hand, I'm not that sure we'll want him pitching for us in 5 years, and I'd be stunned if he takes fewer years than that.
  3. I think you're exactly right, Nader. If it's not Green, it'll be someone else of that echelon, and I assume Doug has already said "We're fine with whichever guy you pick but we need CC here by Tues." So I don't love the trade as much as I did when we thought Green wasn't going, but at the same time, if we make the playoffs I sure love our chances.
  4. Perhaps it came out different from how you indended, but that's not an acceptable way of stating your opinion.
  5. Great news that Green isn't going. end, I find the suggestion that Melvin is making moves for his own personal benefit to be ludicrous. They obviously feel they are close, and this is the year to go for it. He's doing his job, and if he thought it would be better for the club to keep the prospects and wait a year or 2, I'm confident he would do that instead.
  6. Menotti, clearly you need to use a browser with tabs. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  7. I'm out of words to respond to JJ Hardy.
  8. brewcrew, I wouldn't call the difference between Brantley and Cain "quibbling." There's a reason why Doug's included him in the big 5 that he won't trade 2 of. bklynbrewcrew, with all respect, you're posting the same thing over and over. It's well-established that you don't like the trade and think it's too much and Doug is mortgaging the future if he does it.
  9. Russell Branyan is now going to JJ for batting tips.
  10. That's amazing that Braun finished #2 overall behind Utley.
  11. Good grief Soup, thanks for giving it all back.
  12. That Braun guy ain't too shabby either. I like these guys.
  13. Approach JJ Hardy at your own risk..
  14. If that bit from TH is accurate, and Shapiro does go with Philly, he's an idiot. I trust Doug to stick to his guns and not give in, and we'll make do elsewhere. Heck, we may be tied for the WC tomorrow anyway..
  15. I don't understand the whole restructuring statement, since they were never offering another prospect of LaPorta's level.
  16. To reemphasize, this is not an IGT, let's try and keep the posts on target and substantive
  17. I wonder what it's like to be LaPorta right now, knowing that in the next couple days your life could be turned upside down.
  18. Anyone claiming the Dodgers would trade Kershaw for CC shouldn't even be allowed on a computer. edit: nevermind, I see the clarification, but still highly doubt that they would trade Kershaw for Hardy.
