  1. Why are major league catchers throwing to second in that scenario? Like ever?
  2. At some point someone's going to get a hit with RISP and 2 outs, right? Right??
  3. Myers on track for another 8 inning outing.
  4. I think this would easily be more legitimately devastating to the clubhouse than Hader supposedly was (and probably wasn't). It would also lead to a casual fan revolt too. The only scenario it's palatable is a legit stud pitcher who helps right now.
  5. You started this same thread in the Majors forum, where it probably makes more sense.
  6. One of these teams is not like the others. I think we're lumping ATL in out of habit, but they're not the juggernaut that Phi is. They should be talking about how they're going to get past LAD/Phi/Mil
  7. Yep, 2.9 bWAR, just behind Ohtani (3.0).
  8. Which of those losses are you chalking up to Counsell rather than the fact they just aren't that good?
  9. D'oh, good point. I would expect we'll see Ashby back at some point given how he did this time.
  10. Just to clarify - you're saying the team that currently holds the 2nd wild card is going to be selling? Their relation to last place is completely irrelevant.
  11. I assume we'll see Ashby back in 4 days. I wonder if he even goes to Nashville or just heads to Milwaukee.
  12. Looks like it's Myers, who's back up (Junk down) with Gasser's move to the IL.
  13. Um, yes please. I was going to say #3 seemed more fair until I saw it was for Crochet AND Fedde.
  14. It seems to me if this series changed your impression, maybe you thought Milwaukee was the top team in the NL? I don't really care about the sweep, what's important is that these were three very close games that a hit or single pitch going a different way could have altered the game. I will say this series did impact my impression of Ashby - he's apparently way closer to being back than I thought, given he was pretty much of a mess in AAA.
  15. From McCalvy's article: They have started each of the Brewers' 59 games this season, and, with one more start in the Philly opener, Contreras and Adames would become only the fifth pair of Brewers teammates to start each of the first 60 games of a season. The last duo to do that was Robin Yount and Rob Deer in 1989. The longest streak for a Brewers duo is within reach. Sixto Lezcano and George Scott started Milwaukee's first 63 games in 1975.
  16. I think it's something like 60 games - it came up in the course of the story of them forcing their way back into the lineup. They're definitely within 10 games or so, so I expect them to break the record shortly if it hasn't already happened.
  17. I think that's pretty much everyone at this point until proven otherwise.
  18. But it's a zero-sum game - if the bullpen covers inning 1 instead of inning 6, how is that burning them?
  19. Ortiz has been such a key part of this revamped offense it's hard for me to prefer Burnes. It's tempting to say that the whole offense is so much better that we would benefit more from adding Burnes than be hurt by losing Ortiz, but I'm not convinced. I think where I land (as of right now) is over the season I'd rather have Ortiz. In a playoff series, probably give me Burnes.
  20. But what he's saying is your last 2 points are irrelevant. A sweep of the White Sox is worth just as much (and should be MUCH easier) than beating the Phillies. Get as many wins as you can when the opportunities present themselves.
  21. Apparently neither does Mark A. In the Brewers.com article from today from his media session, he said he doesn't see what Chourio is going to learn in AAA at this point.
  22. Another great Brewers/Cubs series from a pure entertainment value, and even better with a series victory for the good guys.
  23. You're not following me, I was just saying you quoted the wrong Bulldogboy post. Anyway, moving on...
