  1. Sanchez caught the last start, but Contreras caught him the one before, and I think has generally. That's not accurate.
  2. Imagine still owing Devers 31M/year through 2033. Woof.
  3. He has a broken finger? That was last year.
  4. Hall exited with 2 strikes? That can't be good.
  5. Which specific garbage are you talking about from this inning? Other teams have garbage too - that's the thing.
  6. I don't think you even need the lowkey qualifier. :) It definitely would be a disappointment for how bad the giants are. On the plus side, they have not demonstrated they have any offensive capabilities, so we've only lost one game because Webb dominated and we couldn't get a key RISP. Otherwise we're going for a sweep.
  7. It'd be interesting to go back and compare with CC, that's the clear analog here. Yes, Brantley had a good career, but would you take back that trade? I bet most everyone says no, that was legendary. LA showed us what having a shutdown pitching staff can do. This year could be the same thing all over again. Maybe Woodruff will be ok, but Skubal is the type of talent that should make one think seriously about it, and the fact that the system is so stacked should make it even more palatable to do so. Is it going to hurt? Of course. There would probably be someone going back who will have 3-5+ years of success. Otherwise why would Detroit do it? I tend to lean more "bites" than "all-in" approach philosophically, but that three-headed monster in October would be awfully compelling. Ultimately I'll trust that Arnold isn't going to do something stupid, and if he doesn't pull the trigger, it's because the asking price was crazy. If he does, then I'll enjoy the heck out of it.
  8. In the immediate post yes, but it started with your first post: "My god people. Anyone saying this: ... needs to get a grip. 😒" and then: "Yeah I read it the first time. It's still ridiculous. And by all means keep doubling down on your comparison of Chourio to Joey Ortiz. It's incredibly instructive and persuasive." Your tone this whole thread has been over the top, so yes people may start responding back with more bite as well. We're all fans of the same team here. Enjoy the debate, but attacks and over the top responses are not helpful.
  9. I was surprised to see how bad Webb has been this year, but now he will probably go like 7IP 1R or something.
  10. Back off the tone here, this is not a productive way to have a constructive debate.
  11. Well, he's in A+ right now. I suppose when he gets promoted to AA (sometime this month) if he lights the world on fire there he'd be a candidate for postseason. But not the near future.
  12. We'll see if this is a trend or an aberration, but Frelick sits for Bauers today.
  13. Bauers in RF, Vaughn at 1B, I'm all about this lineup.
  14. We don't need to spend 2 roster spots on pitchers that never pitch.
  15. That sounds amazing until you look and see Luis Matos is hitting .351.
  16. Agreed. A cap and floor doesn't necessarily fix the problem. It limits the range of options, but a more balanced local revenue share would provide a more level playing field. With a cap/floor, you're still going to have smaller markets sitting at the floor and the big markets at the cap. For NFL where basically everyone is operating right around the cap, is it just a function of it all being national broadcast arrangements so you can't have local TV deals, and thus every club has a similar amount of money?
  17. Don't feed the troll. Feel free to use the ignore option.
  18. You can make your point without such dripping sarcasm and derision. It's ok for someone to have a different approach in team building than you.
  19. Yuck. In retrospect, hit Vaughn for Frelick and then let Hamilton do a squeeze. but Yeli comes through!
  20. Well ok, at least Vaughn is PHing for someone.
  21. History means more to fans than a particular group of players. There really isn't much carryover between the past teams that really didn't like each other and these teams.
  22. Patrick it is, same lineup as yesterday. I realize Mitchell hit a homer yesterday, but also Vaughn needs to play more than 1 out of 3 games. Can we just move Chourio to RF?
