(I waffled between sticking this in OT or Trading Post, and won't be offended if another mod decides it should be in the latter) Looking at purchasing a used car and just thought I'd check whether anyone has a bulk Carfax membership, or you bought the package of 5 and have some left? I'm fine with compensating you, it's just the $35 for 1 is a bit steep (although not in the context of spending thousands on the actual car).

Have you seen Green's MiLB stats? I'm not sure who you're describing, but it's not Green.

IIRC, they actually put the waggle into his routine because his hands are so fast that he was coming around on the ball too quickly and they wanted to delay it a bit.

Agree with ninja, being mad at the trainers is wasted energy. Bring on Kottarikikawa... :/

Exactly, the problem isn't that they didn't make $5M or $20M more or whatever, it's that they were financially incompetent.

Not that it's that important to this discussion, but the player doesn't choose the team, the HOF does.

I've only caught a game or 2 so far and I'll certainly give him a year, but I'm pretty underwhelmed so far. His voice just doesn't have the weight and diction that Powell and Provus did, it's just not compelling to me, to the point I'm a little surprised he was the best one they interviewed.

I remember reading something about that pretty early on that the owner or manager or whatever had decided to part ways with him.

...and Hart's out for a month with knee surgery, problem solved.

I liked last week's, but then was really underwhelmed again this week. I get that Nellie (I think that's her name?) is a friend of Jo's, but she's so incompetent that the whole storyline is implausible and boring to me. I also think they made a serious mistake making Andy the new manager. He's such a weak character in a position of authority that it's really hurting the show. 30 Rock and Parks and Rec are killing it lately.

If it were a WNBA team, definitely.

Man, that's a pile of cash.

How did a thread about Aoki turn into an infield debate?
  15. Team Canada
I thought it was the other way around - Melvin didn't want Gallardo.

"We kept hearing that Wisconsin is the Louisiana of the north." Really? I'm not even sure what that means.

Page is down now, with just this message on the front page: "I am thrilled to be making our home in Milwaukee. My wife, Bethany, and I keep talking about how wonderful we hear the people are, how cool SummerFest is and, of course, how exciting Brewers games are with a packed house every night. Thank you to the Brewers and WTMJ for bringing us to our new home. We're Midwesterners and miss a little snow around the holidays. To the kind folks in L.A., the Dodgers and KABC, thank you for giving me the opportunity to talk baseball with you last season. I felt a genuine camaraderie with Dodgers fans I can only hope to replicate in Wisconsin. It's going to be a lot of fun working with and learning from Bob Uecker and Kent Sommerfeld in the Brewers booth. This is a lifelong career goal of mine, and I have many people to thank for helping me reach it. And I will get to every one. Until then, Thanks for checking in."

Or just as comically, last year they paid him $2M not to play for them, and this year they are paying him $2M to sit on the bench. Neyer's pretty excited: http://mlb.sbnation.com/2...s-yuni-betancourt-signed

Agreed on X-Men; it was ok, and Fassbender was good, but otherwise didn't stand out from any other blockbuster fare. And McAvoy wasn't really doing it for me as Professor X.

It's not really this thread, just that Yuku is sucking right now. That said, this needs to stop being a repository for any rumor someone happens to see on the internets. This isn't TMZ, we can do better.

I dunno, the enduring image I have in my mind regarding Loe is him coming into NLCS Game 2 and knowing he was going to get shelled, and then watching it happen. He was terrible.

I thought this was a pretty remarkable table from Stark's latest article: CATEGORY 2011 AVERAGE SEASON HR 33 32 Extra-base hits 77 75 Doubles 38 37 Runs 109 101 RBIs 111 106 Braun is good, October PED test or no (and clearly this is far from the first test he's ever taken).
  23. Team Canada
C'mon Briggs, I know you love Fielder, but are you seriously valuing him at 16 wins? How do you justify that number?
  24. Team Canada
And here is today's example of how not to foster productive discussion. I suggest you exercise a little more rhetorical ability in how you choose to express your disagreement.

Clearly Braun is just twice the man that everyone else is...
