  1. I find those Brewers Negro League jerseys amusing. The Milwaukee Bears played all of 12 games in Milwaukee, yet the Brewers have come up with 3 different versions of the jersey (2 on field designs, and a 3rd retail). I somehow doubt the Bears had that many jerseys in their very brief stay in town. The other thing is that the Brewers actually introduced what we now call the Milwaukee Bears tribute jersey back in 1994, only they called it the "1901 Milwaukee Brewers Tribue" jersey then.
  2. Short answer & long answer.... The short answer is....No. The team did not use a block letter "Milwaukee" wordmark until 1994. As noted above, both home and road jerseys sported the "Brewers" across the front until 1978. From 1978 - 1989 the Brewers used a script style "Milwaukee" wordmark on the front. During this period, there were three color variations for the road uniforms (2 different shades of blue and a change to gray) and the fonts used for player numbers varied slightly, but the wordmark stayed the same. There were no alternate game jerseys during this period, though Royal Blue and & Road Gray "batting practice" jerseys were introduced late in the decade. Neither had a block letter "Milwaukee" wordmark though. From 1994 - 1996 The Brewers used a German Gothic style block letter "Milwaukee" wordmark. I doubt this is the one you are thinking of however. I can post pictures if needed. The wordmark was altered slightly for the 1997 - 1999 seasons, but was nearly identical. I hope that helps.
  3. I can help. I have photos of every Brewers uniform style ever worn. Let me take a look.
  4. Edit and Update, the Braun Bat is sold. Thanks! http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/0401531e9611510d1ba56705ac1bed6cec4e9d7.jpg http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/eb71511d9d13580648a1b77e850c55c0b3a3673.jpg http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/bc235a91166f99a01c13558a0fe1a7df56eea12.jpg http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/05b35c7014c2944a16d659be06c45ab4df35d55.jpg
  5. Most PM's / emails have been responded to, I'll get to the rest shortly. Pictures as requested will follow as well. Thanks!
  6. I've got another couple of bats to move as I try to raise some more capital to pick up a few other pieces for my collection. Ryan Braun Game issued Sam Bat This is without a doubt the nicest Ryan Braun bat I have. It's a game issued (but not used) Ryan Braun Authentic SAM Bat. The end is cupped and the signature is beautiful. This is the same bat Ryan uses. This is not a stock bat. This is a real, Maple SAM bat made for Ryan Braun with the custom flared handle. I can't stress how great this bat is. $250 or best offer. Will also consider cash/trade combos. This is a steal! Prince Fielder Big Stick Same bat I had available a few weeks ago. I got some trade interest and I thought I had an offer, but it's still available. Nice bat, nice signature. New price : $75 Please ignore the rest of the bats in the picture as I'm not looking to move them right now. I'm just looking to move duplicates. http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/a7435d931a2e9bfe19f354140d5f8e9f0bb6256.jpg Paypal only please. PM or email me if you are interested. Thanks!
  7. Seems way to small to me, but I'm sure it will grow on me. http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/d5c25481319b21ff5240d39a4e5f6cdfd49e368.jpg
  8. Not sure if this was posted or not, but a video showing off the new jerseys... http://mlb.mlb.com/media/video.jsp?content_id=7170219
  9. PM's responded to. Sorry to anyone if my last replys were blank!
  10. Bob Betts....Man do I miss that guy.
  11. One thing I've been finding is that even home owners / renters policies that do cover your collection, tend to pay out under replacement cost - and that seems to be open to interpretation and doesn't take into consideration the significance of an item or the amount you paid for it. So, non antique items - say game used bat from an important game in 2008 that cost you $500, could be replaced with the value of a regular stock bat, say $40. Anyone out there in the insurance field want to educate us? Will keeping detailed photos, videos, inventories and provenance records help in the event of loss? Does having a good home security system in place help? Also, on a related subject for collectors. It's a good item to keep at least detailed photos of your collection on file somewhere in case something is stolen. I've seen on several occasions people finding their exact items showing up on ebay and tracking down the thief. There are actually communities of people that watch various resale/auction sites for items that people report as stolen. Pretty cool, though I hope never to have to use their help.
  12. As requested, here's a close up of the Yount signature. http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/a181551493185a0833df3f7dc3fa7bd934065e1.jpg
  13. Updates: The Braun bat is sold pending payment. The Uecker Bat is gone.I also have 2 more Bill Hall Game used bats available. Both are black M9 bats and one of the Hall bats has the Ben Sheets characteristic silver number 15 on the knob. The last Hall bat moved for $45, so I'll offer these to at that price as well. I'll also add these: Signed John Jaha Blond Big Stick, not game used. $25I have about a dozen game used pro stock bats with tons of use, really nice bats. All cracked, some with loads of pine tars, others with nice tape jobs. Good for team autographs. Mostly blond, some black, some red. Both Rawlings & Lousiville Sluggers. $10 each. Take'em to spring training! Blond, signed Robin Yount Louisville slugger bat. Not game used, this is a pro stock bat. The signature is in blue sharpie and is the autograph is smudged. $75 is still a steal, even with the smudge. Prince Fielder Black Big Stick, similar to the Braun one above. Signed with a blue paint pen. $120 or best offer. http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/857358ef13e3962714fa51860da88140e0642be.jpg I can still do local pick up this weekend, otherwise shipping is extra. Thanks!
  14. Believe it or not, I also found out today that my insurance will not cover my collection either. I've been thinking about this since last month. I begun building a detailed inventory of my entire collection as part of the process of determining how much insurance I'll need.
  15. Diamond Dancers + doing push ups + those outfits = Very fan friendly.
  16. Wow. Very nice Yount signature.
  17. Hats off to the Brewers. This was a great show, well organized. Well run. I was very happy with everything. I got there early, had a great time with Barrelman19 & Mattsr. Saw some others as well. I hope everyone got what they wanted. BillyHallFan, I hope you got the Yount signature you were after! I skipped the sig's this year and focused on the vendors. I was able to add a ton of stuff to my game used collection including 4 game used helmets (3 of the ball and glove variety), 4 game used jerseys (including a great pinstriped jersey from 2008), 3 game used hats, 4 game used bats and a box of game used baseballs. I somehow managed to stay within budget, but I'm done for awhile. It's always cool to see the players in the crowd. We saw Yount and Suppan on the floor. Suppan was great, taking pictures and talking to people. We left before noon, but in retrospect I would liked to have stayed and watched some of the afternoons activities, but between my full hands, empty wallet and lack of sleep, I was ready to go.
  18. The Bill Hall bat is sold pending payment.
  19. http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/d18252c14396b1065400ae7e61dd477dc91f104.jpg Got a couple of bats for sale tonight. Bill Hall Game used bat - $75. I've got a couple of these, just looking to move an extra one. Ryan Braun - Black Big stick with a HUGE silver signature. Most of the bats like this you see on ebay do not have his name stamped on the bat but this one does. Got it during his rookie season. This is beautiful! $120 OBO. Bob Uecker - Black Big Stick. Again, a beautiful silver signature. One of the hardest signatures in town. $90Pay pal only please. Local pick up on Monday in the Brookfield area, otherwise shipping is extra.
  20. Yep, it's just a regular sharpie like Matt said. That's a photo of Matt's bottle, BTW. It only made a brief appearance in my collection before I got my own, but it's the only picture I had handy.
  21. I'm sure your bottle will look great! Good luck. Make sure to take a picture of how it turned out. http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/8991591799195d0e1cdafca64dc9afe7c0ba6ed.jpg
  22. Goo Gone is good for this and a million other uses. Pick up a bottle and you'll thank yourself later.
  23. I think your right about the comfort level thing. I'm using the standard felt mats as well, though I've tried the wax paper trick in the past. I'll probably stick with the mats I have unless I find a pair of the specialty mats cheap.
  24. I know there are a few dj's here. Anyone have any suggestions on slipmats? I keep hearing about how great butter rugs are, but are they really? Anyone use them before? One concern I have is that I hear they are great for scratching, but they are a little to slippery for mixing. One guy I talked to said that he constantly threw the track in off beat because the mats were to slick. I'm tempted to believe that this is more a function of the dj and not the slip mats, but I thought I'd seek some advice here.
  25. I got a game used Carlos Villanueva bat, a game used Danny Kolb Milwaukee Bears throwback uniform & pants, a game used hat to match the uniform and a couple of bottles of champagne from the Wild Card clincher in 2008. Nice stuff. Edit, I forgot one of the coolest items, a ticket to the 1957 World Series game 4 at County Stadium.
