  1. You should at least look up a player's contract before proposing trades. Here's good place to get the info: LINK Also, this belongs in the Trade Poposal forum, where you'll find many people suggesting the Brewers trade Jenkins, Turnbow, Clark, etc... Those guys have little or no trade value, so I don't understand why people think the Brewers could get anything for them. This isn't MLB2K7, where you can throw a bunch of overpriced, mediocre players at a team and get something of value in return.
  2. Black Dahlia I preferred the plot from the video game, "Max Payne" over this terrible movie. I knew it would be bad but, WOW. I honestly couldn't follow the twisty plot but didn't feel like I was missing out. As all the tattered plots threads get tied up in the end, I found out that my intuition was correct. Josh Hartnett stunk. Aaron Eckhart stunk. Johansson and Swank had nothing to work with (a nice way to say, stunk). They should have cut down this 2 hour movie to about 75 minutes and it might have at least been bearable.
  3. I also missed the part when they asked about the merger and Jim's date said "everyone quit or got fired" -- does that mean Andy's gone, or did I miss something It was mentioed that he's still in anger management.
  4. I'm with Valpo. i didn't hate it and certainly laughed but overall. ehh.
  5. Thanks for the explanation. That's pretty much the opposite I would expect from a button titled "HTML VIew". I figure that the button would allowed me to see the results of processed html code, not the code itself. All fixed.
  6. Well, I pasted the content of the message above. Someone replied to the email I supposedly sent them, thinking I was personally inviting them to check out my lame Yuku profile. Right after transfering my account, I clicked on the hotmail link allowing me to see who in my hotmail address list already had a Yuku account. I then had the option of clicking on those that didn't have one to send an invite to Yuku. I clicked on no one and just backed out of that screen. Curious, indeed.
  7. Hey, now Yuku is apparently spamming everyone in my hotmail address with an email pretending to be me: Real ****** nice. I guess you can't click on the link to see who on your hotmail address list has a Yuku account, without spamming everyone with a stupid email? Did I miss some small fine print or something? Stuff like this really pisses me off.
  8. Well I started playing with my Yuku profile: LINK Apparently google ads is the most important thing about me, since it's located front and center and can't me moved. Now, I don't mind some ads but the location of those ads is very obnoxious. One other issue. I can't get the html blocks to work at all. Are their restrictions to what tags can be used? Is it pseudo-html or something? I think it's obvious that ezboard is trying to leverage the popularity of their message boards to make Yuku the new and hip social networking site. Apparently, I'll earn "kudos" for spamming my friends with requests to join the new myspace. I think they'll fail miserably but in the end, people like us will just have the option of ignoring it all anyway.
  9. Here is is the run frequency tables for various base/out states: LINK Is that what you were looking for?
  10. You can enjoy it as a kid goofing around or an adult taking the motions seriously. My only concern is that the motion controls simply aren't sensitive enough to pick up very precise motions. Hopefully, Nintendo will come on with a more adult game with harder controls soon.* * I've never actually played the wii. Just things I've read.
  11. Sheets Futures Bobble? For what it's worth: LINK
  12. A lot of funny stuff in there but Michael's antics just makes me cringle sometimes. As socially disfunctional he is, he could never hold down a job, much less be a successful salesman and a regional manager. I know realism isn't exactly the point but they don't generally push all the other characters as far as they do with Michael. Well, Andy too.
  13. Am I the only one who thinks the joke, "Trade Player X for a bag of balls" (and all derivatives) has run it's course?
  14. Marcel Projections: BA OBP SLG OPS Bell .264 .330 .402 .732 Graffy .278 .344 .401 .745Unless you can find someone significantly better than Graffy, he'll probably get the majority of starts at 3B if Koskie can't go.
  15. PECOTTA probably just looks at the last few years and takes a weighted average of PA/IP. Just look at rate stats (OBP,SLG,HR/PA, etc...), plugging in how many PAs you think a player will get.
  16. If PECOTA is like every other projection system, they aren't really attempting to project how much playing time he'll actually get.
  17. Yuck. They've simply made his character TOO unlikable.
  18. There are dozens of "runs created" equations already out there, from simple to extravogent. The most simple is basic runs created: RC = OBP x TB It ignores SB and CS because, for most players, it has little or no effect anyway. If you wanted to know the average value of each baseball event, just use something like linear weights. Each event has a value associated with it... then you just add them all up.
  19. Take (total bases + walks + hbp + sb - cs) / plate appearances. That's just so arbitrary, though. To generate a meaningful metric, you need to define what the metric is trying to measure and there needs to be a reason WHY you weight various components the way you do. For instance, according to your above definition, a guy with 50 SB and 50 CS in a year has no effect on your leadoff metric. A guy like that probably really hurt his team, however.
  20. Yes, that's very odd.
  21. Good luck and see ya around soon!
  22. however, when ripping a moderator or his post, there is always the fear that being banned will be the result. Exactly how many established posters have been banned on these boards in the last couple of years? Three? It takes hard work and dedication to get yourself banned.
  23. Disagreements were spilling over to the baseball side, hurting the discussions there. Our baseball discussions get heated enough sometimes!
  24. I think it's brilliant how they've made Dwight into a more likeable character just by illustrating how bad he could be http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  25. See, Sam? Now THIS is a first rate example of some stat-boy condescension for ya, from someone who, for years, referred to himself ironically as "The Thinking Man." I took personal offense to you calling Al a "stat boy" http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
