  1. Wow. 3 of the last 4 movies I've seen were Broken Flowers, Matchpoint and In Her Shoes. The other was Motorcycle Diaries. I didn't even know it was based on a true person, nor did I even know who Guevara was. I'm glad I didn't, since I could enjoy the movie for it's own sake. I disagree with the central premise that this is a story about love. And I think the movie is guilty of anthropomorphising the penguins to a ridiculous degree. Baahhh, love is love. At it's core the "love" a pinguin feels for it's mate is the same darn thing we feel for our spouse, whether we want to accept that or not.
  2. See, Jenkins once AGAIN has a meaningless HR. They didn't even need those two runs!
  3. Davis has pitched a 6 innings of shutout baseball, giving up 3 walks and 4 hits. Somehow that's a bad outing and he should be pulled from the starting rotation?
  4. Carlos Lee making sure that he'll be making north of $10 mil next year.....
  5. Nice to see Buch come right after Bonds. He got ahead 1-2 and got him to ground to Prince. Nice.
  6. WOW. The FSN crew is aware of the fact that Bonds shouldn't be walkednearly as often as he it? They even showed the Giants winning % when Bonds is or isn't walked. He get's a bit more HR's when he's not walked but the Giants have a worse winning % in that situation. Bill is agreeing right now but I guarantee the moment the game starts, he'll call for about 25 intentional walks.
  7. Anyway you look at it, walking Bonds every time is much worse than just pitching to him. As great as Bonds is, he still makes an out over 50% of the time if not given gifts. Here's one approach to determine when to walk Bonds: LINK It certainly doesn't capture all the variables but it's a heck of a lot more accurate than just assuming an intentional walk is always the best bet. With the bases loaded and 2 outs in the top of the 9th with the Giants down 3, the author recommends walking Bonds http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  8. Gross being very patient against Lidge. Nice to see a young guy do that. Owell.
  9. they would think my comments are fine and while the majority may disagree with my point, are very valid statements. If you think most people would agree that Capuano is better than Sheets you are a little off.
  10. You didn't say he was a troll. You sarcastically said he "has made a lot of friends here". Well he hasn't and just about everyone is sick of his constant junk. I think that being a pretty high profile poster you should not stoop to petty little shots like that. I don't want to be a high profile poster and I'm not officially affiliated with this website. I'm just another guy obsessed with the Brewers who hates trollish behavior.
  11. Why do the Brewer have to come back just to make the silly mistakes that much more upseting......... ARGHHHHH!
  12. It should be first and second with no out with Jenkins, Lee and Fielder up. Man o man.
  13. Did I mention that statistically, Weeks was a horrible baserunner last year?! SHEESH!!! Not necessary. Can't people have a conversation without getting sarcastic and uppity? Well, the the owner of this website called him the definition of a troll, so I'm not the only one.
  14. When does the madness end with Weeks at 2B?
  15. That's what you get when a strong armed SS plays CF for ya. Nice. Keep living in the Sheets fantasy land everyone. You have made a lot of friends here, haven't ya? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  16. But come on, great pitchers (ie. staff aces) find ways to win. Rightttttt.
  17. From the Atros Daily Board: Well, it's probably not the last time Hall will be hitting a bomb off them, so they better get used it it.
  18. Seems like he's doing better than last year. No? More of the same, really: LINK 4.42 FIP and a 70+% LOB. He needs to stop walking so many people but he's certainly showed a knack to "bear down" and get people out when he needs to. I just think he'll get bitten if he keeps it up, however.
  19. It's crappy outside and I have nothing to do. Let's play some baseball!
  20. Strikeouts can give you nothing positive. Didn't the Brewers score a run on a K the other day? BTW, check the teams with the highest strikeout totals and tell me if they are typically struggling to score runs.
  21. Why doesn't Yost ever pinch hit his lefties when they have to face a lefty pitcher?
