  1. I hope they do a lot to bring out the history of the game. That's something that we don't usually get to hear about as much. Like reviewing classic games from the 40's, 50's and 60's and talking about those players. Would be interesting to me.
  2. 4th and 5th???? I can't tell you how many stories I read in the 3 years I lived in Sheboygan, that there were folks that were on their 8th or 9th....and what did they get? A fine, jail time, minimal for both. That's the big problem there!
  3. There's a problem in Wisconsin with alcohol?? Really??? Who knew??? The running joke in Sheboygan, where I moved away from in January, is there is a bar and a church on every corner. Granted, the problem is nationwide, however, in growing up in Mayville, a small town, I understand (but don't condone) how this behavior can happen. Small towns don't usually have a whole lot to do on weekends, so the high school/college aged crowd would drive "laps" and hang out. I'm fairly sure, even though I didn't participate, that there was alcohol involved. It's a very social thing in Wisconsin. Doesn't matter what's going on, let's have a beer. I'm not a prude by any stretch, but I will say it's about personal responsibility. I saw one of my sister's friends drunk back in high school (let's just say her pants were wet and it wasn't water), and it made me determine I would never let myself lose control in that way. I've never drank to the point of getting drunk, but I will drink here and there. It's about parents being responsible for their kids, and people taking responsibility for themselves, something that seems to be falling out of practice fast in our country.
  4. You've got to put in an offer to CC. He really seemed to like the team and like it in Milwaukee. Why not put it out there? It's on him to take a better (or different offer) but you can't say you didn't try. I'd love 6/150.
  5. To some extent I agree, but I don't know if either candidate will make anyone more confident. A big part of it, to me, is people living within their means, not buying the 3000 inch Plasma TV with their credit card, when they're going to only afford to pay the minimum payment for the next 30 years. Save your money until you can pay for it. Plain and simple. Live within your means.
  6. I don't know. There's been a few guys that have moved around and seemed to be OK. Initial guys who come to mind are Pujols, Miguel Cabrera, Braun. They moved positions as fairly young players, and it didn't seem to hurt them. Didn't Jose Reyes move to 2nd initially when he came to the majors? He started off moving to accommodate the great Kaz Matsui. Granted, Matsui wasn't good, so Reyes moved back, but it's not unheard of to do. I just wonder whether it would be a benefit to the team to do it defensively. Thankfully, I'm not the GM.
  7. But wouldn't that be an asset, considering Prince's butchery at first? Escobar's range could make up for Prince's lack of range.
  8. Why not put Rickie in center, put Escobar at 2nd, and you've got a couple of problems solved. Just my thought. Rickie couldn't be any worse than Bill Hall in center, could he?
  9. He may love puppies and be a super nice guy, but thank God that experiment is over. Goodbye Derrick!
  10. So, do you think that Remington encourages using the thing while running around the bases? I'm assuming not, but since Ryan Braun did it, I would try. Also, for Ryan, probably a good idea to keep your day job. For Marisa Miller....wow. I think more women should play softball so they can try that move if they get caught in a pickle...."nuts!"
  11. Yeah, but Judge Ito and the other dancing Itos were quite competent dancers!
  12. Guys, continue to keep that patient, small-ball playing approach you took last night. It really looked great. Bill Hall, thanks for returning to Milwaukee. You sure looked good. JJ, played excellent. Bush.....can't say any more. Now, today, we need a Bush-like effort for Soup today. Let's keep the crowd loud, electric and rocking. I will do my best, cheering down here in Texas. Maybe some you will be able to hear me! GO BREWERS!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Where was this patient, small-ball playing team all season? They came out with a patient, relaxed approach, and it paid off. Granted, they could have scored a few more runs by not leaving the bases loaded 2 consecutive innings, but they looked great! Why couldn't they have changed up their outlook in September and that could have helped. Oh well.
  14. To quote Jim Mora "Playoffs? Playoffs? You talking about....Playoffs?" Not anymore for the Cubs. 2 years in a row you've been swept out of the first round of the playoffs. Pure awesomenss.
  15. Bush stepped up huge when it was big-boy time. No homers, no big innings, just an excellent outing, to hopefully set up a win today. He did everything that was asked of him.
  16. He hurt something running to first. They weren't sure how serious it was, but I'm guessing Dale didn't want to make it any worse.
  17. In the words of a wise philosopher....."All we need is just a little patience...oooo...yeah". Follow the words of Axl Rose, dear Brewers, against the ancient Moyer, and we'll be good for tomorrow.
  18. I'm assuming you're meaning the Brewers, Cubs and Sox. Not all 3 are in the NL. And the Cubs and Sox are going to be done shortly. I'm hoping the Brewers can pull the miracle.
  19. Miller Park needs to be loud, rocking and energetic! Just need to get some hits, score some runs, and Bush needs to keep the team in the game. WIN, WIN, WIN!!!!
  20. What Corey Hart said: I'm not going to sit there and walk, though." What Corey Hart meant: I'm going to flail away at sliders and pitches low and away. Along with that, I'm going to almost always swing at the first pitch. (fixed code --1992)
  21. My message to the Cubs.....better luck next year. The Dodgers have 3 games to win 1. You have 3 games to win 3. Odds definitely for the Dodgers there. On a side note, I'm disappointed in the Brewers, but just joyful they made it into the playoffs. I'd love to see them in the World Series, but the realist in me said that they would more than likely lose this series. However, it brings me absolute, sheer and total joy to see the Cubs go down in flames again and again and again. I have many people that I know who are Cubs fans, and it's quite fun to rub it in to them. GO DODGERS!!!!!!!!!
  22. Agreed wholeheartedly. Case in point yesterday in the 1st inning. Bases loaded, one out. You've already scored 1 run, and on the verge of getting more. Corey Hart is up. Wouldn't it be the best, to look to hit it out to the outfield, if nothing else, to drive in one more run on a sac fly? Best case, you hit it out, and it's a completely different game. Corey swings at the first pitch (after Myers has given up 3 walks in the inning), and grounds into the inning-ending double play. Disappointing to say the least, but that not only comes down to execution, but coaching. A lot of what I see with the team is a lot of flailing, taking gigantic hacks, trying to hit the 800 foot, 7 run homers. Makes no sense to me.
  23. This will be the most pressure-filled start of his life, no doubt. Don't give up the big inning, keep the team in the game, that's all we need.
  24. Peavy is a legit pitcher. I'd trade Fielder, Gwynn and Hart for him, if the Pads want them. Yes please to Peavy
