  1. If this happened last year (which, of course, it did), I would be more panicked, as there was NO good options until Villanueva came up from Huntsville. This year, it's different. Between Villy and Yo, there won't be much of a drop off. The bigger concern for me is the rest of the starters. Bush has been pitching well of late but at any moment, could turn into the bad Bush. Cappy and Soup HAVE to pick it up. If that happens, I'm not concerned at all.
  2. Yay! That makes my day!
  3. The only thing I think keeps the NFL from suspending Vick is that he is the higher paid QBs in the league. I hope they would have the guts to suspend him for the year, but I highly doubt it.
  4. Just heard a report on the radio that a grand jury indicted Vick and 3 others on dogfighting charges. I don't understand what happened to him! I really liked him back when he was in college, and it seems like he's let the professional life get the best of him. Sad stuff. Link (added tag --1992)
  5. Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. Graduated in '01 with a degree in secondary education with concentrations in vocal music and theology.
  6. Hey guys, thought I'd chime in. Good stuff already. My wife and I started in January with the South Beach diet as it was recommended by the wife's doc. I lost about 45 pounds in the process of about 4 months, and over the last month and a half, put back on about 15 pounds. So, now we're going back to phase 1, and really getting back into the habit. I still want to get off another 30 pounds from where I'm at now by October because my younger sis is getting married on the beach in Florida. It's really a matter of getting off the couch, being active, drinking lots of water, and making the right food choices. I will never forget the first time I went shopping after we started the South Beach diet. It's SO hard to eat healthy, as there are many quick, easy choices that aren't healthy. But we are now it the routine of making better choices, so we'll keep plugging away. Good luck!
  7. They haven't said for sure it was her. You have to think that it might be, but you never know. My prayers are with her family.
  8. Maybe not the best analogy, but the goal is still the same. When the season is over, football or baseball, the teams that have the most wins move on. Yesterday was a winnable game. When you have everyone available, knowing that you've got 4 days off, you use them and not let Capuano continue to let runs score.
  9. 4, 5, 6 innings, whatever. If I'm the manager, and I know that I have everyone available, I'm using them. The goal (as Herm Edwards so eloquently stated) is, you play to win the game. That, to me, didn't seem like it was to win the game.
  10. Biggest what if? No Coco. Turnbow (or whatever cast of characters) as our closer. That, right there, makes losing Lee worthwhile in my eyes.
  11. I'm with many who have posted who have been neither for nor against Yost. I think what should have happened, with it being so hot and humid yesterday was he should have posted at the beginning of the game: Cappy 1st 4 innings Gallardo 5th and 6th Villy 7th and 8th Coco 9th Everyone else, BE READY! But, he didn't. And the decisions he made (or didn't make) cost the game.
  12. Definitely liking that lineup. This should be a fun game. Hopefully a repeat of last night.
  13. Jim just dropped an amazing stat on the radio that I didn't realize....Braun's only played in 38 games. 31 RBI, 10 HR. Unbelievable! 25 HR and 80 RBI is my prediction by the end of the year and ROY for him.
  14. So far...the good Bush has shown up tonight.
  15. Next year, could we have 2-3 starters in the AS game? Fielder, Braun, Hart?
  16. From what Uke is saying...not good. Hopefully at worst it's a sprain...let's keep our fingers crossed!
  17. That was quick....anyone think there's more from his rotator cuff problem last year?
  18. Yes! That's the biggest thing (again from the previews) that I've missed. The noise when they transform! Whenever I played with my transformers, I had to make that noise!
  19. I was listening to it on the radio and I was sick because of how gross it is, and stunned at why they would think this would be good radio! Don't you need the visual of people stuffing hot dogs in their piehole? Gross stuff!
  20. I'm still unsure if I'm going to see the movie, as what I expected when I heard they were making a movie was based on my beloved childhood Transformers. You know, Autobots vs. Decepticons, etc, etc. It seems, from the previews that I've seen that there are the "bad" transformers who wants to take over the earth and the "good" transformers who are protecting it. No mention of Autobots or Decepticons. That said, the visuals look amazing, but I'm not sure if it's worth my money if I'm going to be disappointed.
  21. Mench!! The large cranium is heating up! Edit: Nice call Mike!
  22. I thought Estrada was a decent defensive catcher....has he thrown anyone out? It sure doesn't seem like it.
