  1. This is tremendous, and huge, if true. It’s not. Beltran’s family already came out and said she has no connection to the family. Since we’re quoting tweets.

  3. If he feels so horrible, why does he still have possession of a World Series ring and the World Series share, that I’m sure he’s probably spent on more tattoos or dumb facial hair or whatever. what would you propose he do? Draw more attention to himself by throwing the ring in the ocean in dramatic fashion? Put on the gram for everyone to see and prove his disdain? Frankly I have no idea where you're coming from on this point. I'm normally pretty good at seeing from multiple viewpoints but it's tough for me to come to figure out this view at all. Where am I coming from? It wasn’t only the Astros who did this. I have no idea what Fiers has to gain from any of this, but not giving back his ring of his WS share makes me wonder why he really brought this up. Because if he’s alright with spending the money and keeping the ring that “cheating” got him, yet he’s so distraught that he has to speak up and ruin the lives of others, something’s off to me.

  5. Opportunistic? What is Fiers gonna get out of this? He's never struck me as the type of guy who seeks out drama. I think it's entirely possible that this has been weighing on his conscience for a while, to the point where he couldn't stand to keep it in any longer. I saw something earlier that said that the Mets firing Beltran today was indirectly their fault for Sandy Alderson getting cold feet on the Gomez deal years ago, as Fiers likely wouldn't have ended up in Houston had that deal gone through. Thought that was pretty funny. What is Fiers getting out of this? Everyone talking about him.
  6. So.....who is next? Yankees, Dodgers and Indians have smoke around them. I'm sure, with just a little digging, there's even more. Fiers is the Jose Canseco of today. Opened a pandora's box and will be shunned and should have his motivations seriously questioned.....at least unless he gives back his World Series ring and his World Series share. Otherwise, he looks to me like an opportunistic, self-centered jerk.
  7. Just wait. Every team had something digital to some extent. It’s not just solely limited to the Astros, Red Sox, Yankees, Dodgers, Indians and so on.
  8. What? How does this track at all? In the other thread you’re ripping Fiers for not speaking out sooner, when it was happening, but now you’d rather have LoMo keep his mouth shut until “all of the truth comes out” somehow? Fiers is a tool who, if he truly felt bad, should have spoken up immediately after the 2017 season, not waiting 2 years to say anything. And furthermore, if he feels that awful and that this was that egregious, he’d give back his WS ring and WS share.......but we’ll wait for that, won’t we. Clear things up? Honestly, every team has done this to some extent. The league wanted to make the Astros the whipping boy, because Fiers spoke up.
  9. But the truth is convenient for him at this moment. He may feel bad, but not bad enough to give back his ring or WS share.
  10. I don’t like him for not keeping quiet until all of the truth comes out.
  11. Nope. More truth is going to come out and many, many more teams will be indicted. So there is going to be many who look foolish after the fact.
  12. Jim. It’s far after the fact. This happened in 2017. Why wasn’t he “courageous” in 2018 or early 2019?
  13. Just because of his social media comments today, I don’t like him.
  14. In the course of 30 minutes going from not really surprised at the punishment, as that’s about what those of us in Houston thought, to shock of Crane firing Luhnow and Hinch. I understand his reasons why, it’s a punch in the gut. However, I hope that Mike Fiers becomes an irrelevant punchline in MLB. I’ll be waiting for him to give his World Series ring back. He’s just as complicit as AJ, knowing what was going on.....and doing nothing. Until it was in his benefit, I guess. What a loser.
  15. All this says is that Cole and Strasburg are going to get paid silly money. I wouldn’t be surprised if Cole gets near $350 million.
  16. I live in Houston as well, what part of the city are you in? Spring
  17. Nope. As a Brewer fan growing up (and still) who lives in Houston, Yelich would be great, but Correa and Whitley and Tucker is insane. Correa, when healthy, is is the top SS in the league. Problem is, he’s not healthy all the time. Whitley is young and is still growing. Tucker, too. Two of the three for Yelich+ would be a maybe. But otherwise, no.
  18. Got hurt with a massage.
  19. Just saw it on mlbtraderumors and I had to come here to see the thoughts. That’s......interesting?
  20. The last time the Brewers were 1 win (and subsequently made it) away from the World Series, I was 5. I feel a lot like I did when the Pack got to their Super Bowl win with Brett. And of course, I’m not in Wisconsin to enjoy this, either. But since the Astros were knocked out, I’m all in for the Brewers!
