  1. Anyone counting on that to happen over a whole season, or even a half a season, lives in a fantasy world filled with chocolate rivers and trees that grow money.
  2. The luck the Yankees had in game 1 was bad bullpen pitching by the Rangers. That's probably been the weakest part for the Rangers all series. Hitting, scoring runs, solid starting pitching.....no problems there. I just wonder if tonight is going to be it. That 9th inning when the Rangers topped it off, it just seemed like all the air went out of the stadium and all the players.
  3. So, does the series end in NY or Arlington? It seems like the Yankees have gone home already.
  4. Josh Hamilton has got to have one of the most smoothest, easiest swing that results in a whole lot of hurting.
  5. Ouch Tex! Sorry you're hurt, but taking his bat out of the lineup helps.
  6. Nice part was Yankee fan down the 3rd base line screwed up a foul ball for Hamilton. Too bad he didn't cash it in.
  7. I quickly read this and read gRitty instead of gitty, and I thought what gritty players do we still have to trade? Then, I slowed down, re-read it and figured out that giddy was meant. I think all Brewer fans would be giddy, ecstatic, and plain ol' very happy to have Greinke.
  8. Yup on both counts.
  9. I'm wondering if tonight's Ranger/Yankee game is going to be a pitcher's duel....hopefully good pitching for the Rangers, bad pitching for the Yankees.
  10. I'd love to see Sandberg be interviewed, and hopefully get the job. A) it would tick off Cub fans, B) he is a hall of famer who has put in his dues and C) it would tick off Cub fans
  11. Ryno to the Brewers, please.
  12. Cliff Lee is a very good pitcher. The Rangers are a very good team! Love it!
  13. Trades for minor leaguers are crapshoots, anyway. In the span of two years, the Brewers traded Inman, Thatcher, Garrison, Ford, LaPorta, Brantley and Bryson and have those guys reached their potential? Has it set back the Brewers minor leagues? Maybe in terms of depth, but those guys haven't really done what their potential was going to be. In some trades you luck out, and in others you trade John Smoltz for Doyle Alexander or Jeff Bagwell for Larry Andersen. You just never know.
  14. Series is tied. Yankees are beatable. Let's see what happens in New York. This is a series that I could very well see going to 7 games.
  15. I absolutely detest, hate, loathe, strongly dislike, am really annoyed by the New York Yankees.
  16. 2 things stand out to me in this game. First, CJ Wilson's value goes up pitch by pitch. He's looking great against an "intimidating" Yankee lineup. Second, who doesn't miss Mike Maddux?
  17. Aaahhh, that's news to me! Thanks for helping me learn something
  18. So, possible torn labrum or hip problem for Manny? It may explain why he wasn't the Manny we expected this year. Or, it may not.
  19. I think Detroit is probably the most intriguing place. They need to get butts in the seats, and since big Cecil played there, and Prince grew up there, that could help them. Plus Prince still has the boulder on his shoulder about daddy, I believe, so that could be payback in Prince's eyes.
  20. What to do about Braun? Get out of his way, and watch him be awesome.
  21. So, going with that logic, what qualified Ned Yost to be a manager? Or Macha even, for that matter. He was alright in Oakland, but nothing spectacular.
  22. I think most of us could have broken the story sometime during the last few weeks. I doubt anyone, including Kent is surprised. Listach would be a good choice.
  23. In other news......Brett Favre is old. Seriously, though, happy to see the Macha experiment done. Good luck to DM in finding the right guy. Probably his last hire.
  24. If I have to choose between the two, I pick Webb.
