  1. I think this is the key right here. The focus should be on giving the younger guys as much playing time, because I really think next year is going to be a good year, as long as the extra money that will be available is spent wisely. But between the core group of guys in Milwaukee now, and the guys coming up, there's a lot of potential coming along to help in Milwaukee or to be used as chips in trade. Depending on what's needed.
  2. McClendon being up is a good start! McGehee having a pretty hot streak is helpful, just gotta stay consistent.
  3. It's not during the season, but it would be the day after the season is over....the announcement that the zim-zam is over and Macha is gone. As for during the season, keep the hitting going that they've been doing recently, Manny Parra somehow proving himself to be a MLB pitcher, and get the young guys a chance to play and succeed.
  4. I was hoping he would go for Austin. Then his next son could be Dallas and then if he has another one it could be El Paso. San Antonio Street has a great ring to it!
  5. Thanks all for snapping me back to reality.
  6. Agreed. Other than buying a house, there really is no need to use credit. The whole "reward" or points thing is silly, because you're spending lots of money to get a minimal reward. Pay cash, save your money and live within your means. Common sense that would probably do us all a whole lot of good.
  7. OK, I was a doom and gloomer about 10 days ago, but it seems like the team is starting to put it together. Between now and the end of the year, they've got 9 games against the Reds and I believe 5 or 8 games against the Cardinals. They've got some tough competition, but they're currently 10 games out of the wild card. Granted, it's a huge hole to dig out of, but do you think it can be done?
  8. I'm no English scholar, I'm a musician, but that seems to me to be a run-on sentence.
  9. Nope. Can't think of one.
  10. Time for Lo to shine and show what he can do. Come on Mr. Rollercoaster, let Lorenzo play!!
  11. I would rather have a 5 starters and an entire bullpen of Jeff Suppan clones before Craaaaaaaa-z is in a Brewers uniform.
  12. Salad tongs, when used improperly, can kill you.
  13. A player that Corey has always reminded me of is Geoff Jenkins. When he's hot, he's white hot and is capable of carrying the team on his back. When he's not, he's awful. In between, he's alright.
  14. After sleeping on it, and reading that Hart was resigned, I'm feeling a little bit better. I still think I will pay more attention to the minors as opposed to the majors when it comes to the Brewers. As for the majors, I think it's time to turn my sights more on my AL team, the Rangers.
  15. Well, that's one less space to fill.....unless he slides to first to replace Prince.
  16. I guess we all know the answer, but there were no trades made because "we're in contention"....now, after being swept by the Astros, who sold off Berkman and Oswalt, what happens next? Obviously, the thought of being in contention was an insane idea in the first place, but something's gotta happen. I'm about at my wits end with this team.
  17. Haudricourt tweeted that no trade for Hart will happen. Giants took a run but no go.....we'll see. Got word from Gord that no trades will happen. That sucks.
  18. Hmm..... Edit: Sadly, that's about as much excitement as I can generate for the prospect of Jonathan Sanchez.
  19. There's gotta be something in the water in St. Louis. It just seems like they throw Poo-holes and now Holliday out there with a bunch of other guys and the other guys guys play lights out. I doubt that Ludwick is going to do much anywhere else.
  20. Very good. I'm hoping there are a few people not on the roster named Bush, Edmonds, Hoffman and maybe Hart by the end of the day.
  21. I could see Mike Cameron and Seal mixed up or Hall and Don Cheadle.....but really?
