  1. Wow. $18 million per year? Wow.
  2. Well, they weren't going to platoon him with Big Al, were they?
  3. And joins the Cards. Awesome!
  4. So Prince could bring back 2-3 decent prospects?
  5. That's the plan. He wasn't in foreclosure on his residence, as far as I can tell, just sold it. I checked the obits and the SS database and he's not dead. I may try to contact the company he worked with to set up the lease if they have any recent contact information with him. I've contacted a friend who is an attorney to get legal advice. I don't just want to up and move and abandon the house, but I don't know what my other course of action is, other than just staying in the house and doing whatever repairs are needed and keep all of the receipts and then if he ever shows up again, give it all to him.
  6. I'm still holding out hope for Texas to retain Lee and that the Greinke camp is right in that he would prefer to play for a smaller market. I'm holding onto that hope as well
  7. I'm working on that. From what I can tell, his house was listed and sold with an agent, so it makes think that it wasn't foreclosed on.....but then what does that mean for us?
  8. My landlord disappeared. I went to call him about something with the house and his cell phone was disconnected. Looked up his home phone, called it, and it was disconnected. Drove the 20 minutes to his house and found that the house was empty. Had been sold on November 10th, in doing some looking. As for our house, I don't know if we're living rent-free for a few months before being told to move out, or what exactly the deal is. Not knowing ticks me off.
  9. Yes, that's probably the one thing I miss from Wisconsin. But, there is a Culvers' and my friend who has connections in food things said that Culvers will sell you unfried curds, and there is also a grocery store that sells them, from what I've been told. I have to check it out. Otherwise, I may have to have some shipped for New Year's Day and my day of celebrating Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl!
  10. Yeah, I saw that Jeter is wanting $23-$25 PER YEAR for 4-6 years. Good luck with that.
  11. Hey, if he's willing to come as a NRI guy, see what he's got left in the tank after a year off, I'm all for it. Anything guaranteed, no way.
  12. Right on. He's going to most definitely hit free agency, to try to get as much money as he can, in my opinion. So either the Brewers push to to make 2011 their year, or they trade him and start reloading for 2012 or 2013. I think if Uggla brought back that in a trade, my guess is that the offers for Prince aren't very high. So, why not keep him, see what offers are out there over the winter, strengthen the pitching, and if a deal comes along (assuming we're out of it come the trading deadline), then you make that deal. That said, I don't see why the Brewers wouldn't put their eggs into 2011. The Cubs are rebuilding, the Astros and Pirates are what they are, so your primary competition is the Cards. And they can be had.
  13. If he ends up being the 3rd or 4th starter, that wouldn't be too shabby. I'd rather have him as 4th starter and trade for someone else to be the 3rd starter.
  14. How is this possible? He got a vote for the Cy Young!
  15. Those are names to.....umm.....forget.
  16. Wow. That's awful. Joel Hanrahan is much more deserving than Paul Maholm.
  17. The best part is that Austin is far enough south that if a really big "winter storm" came, you might get a bit of snow, but it will melt quickly and everything will shut down. But that's extremely rare. The lowest lows I've seen in 2 (going on 3) winters here is upper 20s. And that's just for a little bit. I can handle that.
  18. Sounds like you need to get out of the cold and snow! :-)
  19. That was my point in bringing up Farris as opposed to Lawrie. If the Padres want to get more athletic, why not see what Farris would get in return. I'd rather hang on to Lawrie, but if he brings back a top flight young pitcher, that would be a good thing!
  20. I'd say start here, and if talks fall apart, then offer Lawrie. If they're looking for athleticism, then Farris would fit the bill for them.
  21. That's what I was wondering in that. It seems like he's throwing Gammons under the bus.
  22. Bedard and Bonderman would be my choices.
  23. I'll throw San Antonio in the mix as well. Riverwalk is fun just to hang out and experience culture. There's lot of historical stuff too (obviously the Alamo). Also, there's Sea World, Six Flags Fiesta Texas and lots of other stuff.
  24. Yep. I like hot weather. There's typically less humidity in San Antonio in August as opposed to places in Wisconsin. And overall, having a non-snowy winter, along with a more predictable spring, means I'll happily take the summers, springs, winters and falls in the big picture as opposed to cold, kinda cold, really cold, warm, and fall in Wisconsin.
