  1. Sportscenter showed multiple readings of 86 MPH (basically whenever he gave up a HR). Guess its time for the Mets to POUND THAT MEAT!
  2. Not Brewer related, but 3 years ago I worked on a Marketing project with former Wisconsin Badger goalie Brian Elliot (currently with the Ottawa Senators). I'm not sure of any ties to MLB players... sadly.
  3. No analysis of players should really be made until May 1st. This should be the case in TGJ's case as well i suppose.
  4. To be totally honest, TGJ's bat had minimal effect on the outcome of the game. His two hits and his SB came in innings we failed to score. His bunt took the bat out of our best hitter's hands. I know it wasn't his discision to bunt, but you can't really claim that it was TGJ's savvy that allowed the Crew to win the game. Edit: I forgot that TGJ did drive in the winning run, which was great. But heading into the 10th, he was not that big of a factor in the game offensively.
  5. Zimmerman is pretty gritty. We need him on this team!
  6. On a side note... Brett Favre also to return to the Packers.
  7. I'm going to smile a lot when he leads the league in saves this year.
  8. What do you mean barely making contact? With how this team has struck out in the past, I'll take one singles hitter who consitently makes contact whether they are seeds or not. Now will he consistently make contact and carry a high enough BA to make him valuable, that remains to be seen. I do think he deserves that shot. Why is it so impossible to consider the fact that he might be one of the rare players in our system that is defense first and took a little longer to come around offensively? I think some people use his dad AGAINST him more than for him. His dad means nothing to me. I'm not saying that the rest of the team hit the ball any better than gywnn (except maybe Braun). But if you actually watched the game, you can't say that TGJ actually had a good day offensively. He hit a slow roller on the infield and hit a lazy fly to LF that happened to drop between AmRam and Alfonso. His best AB was his Sac Fly in the 10th. The two hits were lucky. Don't get me wrong, I want Gwynn to have the highest VORP in the majors this month so that someone will give us something decent for him when Cameron is available.
  9. I read this thread and died a little... nice one.
  10. We already knew he had a history of PEDs, he was all but gauranteed to be in the report.
  11. On a daily basis, I'll take 2/3 any way I can get it. Looking down the line, I'd rather have a guy hitting the ball hard going 0/4 than a guy barely making contact going 2/3.
  12. I know that we know the situation... that's the issue. People that do other things for a living being more knowledgable than the people paid to deliver the news.
  13. I'll be mister optimistic and take the over. 42 wins on the road. 47 at home. 89 wins. Playoffs, NL Pennant, World Series. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  14. I've heard multiple times from different "experts" that are shocked and dismayed that the Brewers let Cordero go and then signed Gagne for 10 million. It was practically the same money for both of them! Will we ever have an analyst that I can enjoy listening to because they actually understand the game? If I had as little knowledge about my area of expertise as these guys do, I would have been fired a long time ago.
  15. he's great at making outs and not getting on base.
  16. since when did the cubs start making intelligent lineup decisions??? Curse them for being smart for once.
  17. omg omg omg omg omg omg! I can't wait for this season to start. GO CREW! We should have a fun ride this year. Nice work woogie!
  18. I'll bet between the White Sox and the Mariners, you get 170 wins. I'd take that bet. I'm thinking about 72 wins for the Whitesox... i don't see seattle winning 98.
  19. Are you a hockey fan? They do that for the Frozen 5 in the WCHA, but definitely not in the NCAA basketball tourney.
  20. ESPN is dead to me. I was watching their "new predictions" last night on sportscenter. They said Kansas would win the Midwest region. Fine, I can accept that, in fact I agree they will still probably win the region, but to say they will win because (I quote) "they are the best defensive team remaining in the tournament" is downright horrible analysis. Just completely wrong. I would say there are at least 4 teams that are better defensively than Kansas (Wisconsin, Wash St., Stanford, and UCLA. I may even throw Louisville ahead of Kansas defensively). Anyways, that's my little rant. Here are my picks. NC over Wash St. Louisville over Tenn Kansas over Nova Wisky over Curry (and Richards) Michigan St. over Memphis Stanford over Texas UCLA over W. Kentucky WV over Xavier NC over Louisville Kansas over Wisky Stanford over MSU WV over UCLA Kasas over NC Stanford over WV Kansas over Stanford
  21. true, but you were the closest by far from what I read through. Agreed about #4. Go Bucky!
  22. Solid work Homer.
  23. I guess I would think this number justifies putting braun behind fielder, giving him more chances to run.
  24. If that is the case, get him out of the starting rotation. I am not a cappy backer, but i would love for him to turn it around again. We do have a lot of depth, but it not that high quality or high ceiling. I'd say Cappy has the highest ceiling (for this season) of any of our starters past Sheets and Gallardo.
  25. can you explain this stat a little better. Thanks.
