  1. Absolutely loved it. I also like how they left it open-ended for the final movie of the trilogy.
  2. I'm dying for a Rita's to come around here. It's an italian ice establishment w/ gellati's and such.
  3. So....I absolutely want to see this movie. My wife promised to take me on opening night. The problem is, this thing is turning into a bigger opening weekend than Titanic and advance seating is killing some of our options. Somebody give me some theatre options that are close to Hales Corners/Franklin. We haven't hit a theatre since moving back. We don't want to be in a poor neighborhood late at night We'd rather hit a late late show, than the 7pm options with teenagers filling the cinema. Any ideas?
  4. There is a Chik-Fil-A in Racine. In the Regency Mall. It's a 25 min drive from Milwaukee.
  5. What ever happend to Woogie? Is he not doing his thing anymore?
  6. Well, at the rate we are seeing sign-ins for tonight's game, maybe we won't have errors to argue about http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  7. Seriously, throwing errors? Is that how both of those gets labeled? I lob a nice throw, leading the SS to the bag only to have him stop...and the other I hit Kenny right in the glove, but his headache was playing mind tricks with his sight? In the end, it doesn't matter...but that really stinks in my statline. Pooey! I say all of this jokingly. A loss is a loss is a loss and we are all capable of better.
  8. BIG REMINDER.....THIS GAME IS AT WICK FIELD....55TH & VLIET
  9. Chik-Filet is awesome in Florida. Doing a quick search, they have one in Racine. The best chicken nuggets I have ever had. I believe part of the difference is they fry in peanut oil or something like that, not your regular vegetable oil, but I could be wrong. I also like Steak & Shake
  10. Alright Fellas....Time to compound on last week's thriller and get a winning streak started! Kenny's feeling like Mota, so he may be out. Show me what I have to work with fellas and let's go get some wins!
  11. very good point from pops of andrew. We started charging for the 4th false alarm in a calendar year. I've seen people lose their whole allotment in a matter of hours from something as simple as a ceiling fan blowing a helium balloon all over the residence .
  12. As I often do, I'll allow my law enforcement experience say a few things. 1) I would NOT personally invest in an alarm system. There is nothing in my personal belongings that I could not live without or hold enough value to justify an alarm monitoring system that you would pay $20.00 a month for on average, plus the cost and installation of the system. (Yes, I realize there are companies out there that are not charging for the hardware and installation, but get you on the monthly fee.) Secondly, depending upon where you live, from the moment an intruder enters your home, sets off the alarm, the alarm company calls you first to verify it was not false, gets no response, then calls the police department, the operator takes the information, sends out an officer (if one is available at the moment), the officer gets to your home takes a minimum of 6 minutes, but averages 13 minutes. The typical burglar spends 8-10 minutes in your home. 2) I would invest in a gun, safe, and a dog. Gun - Obvious...as I said before, my personal belongings are not important enough to me to justify the alarm system, however the safety of my family and my own life are. Therefore, should somebody be stupid enough to break into my home when I am home....the gun. Safe- Never have a gun that is not secure. Should you have something really important, put it in a safe, or better yet, keep it in a safe deposit box in a bank. The fees and cost is much less than the monthly alarm monitoring fees. Make sure the safe is standalone, good quality and can be bolted or installed into the wall. Dog - While this kind of defeats the monetary discussion we've had as to the cost of the alarm system (dog food, leash, time, treats, toys cost money) there are certain other benefits that owning a pet does to somebody's life and general disposition. A survey of convicted burglars shows that 85% of them do not enter a home with any kind of dog. Dogs make noise and every dog has an ability to bite. The bigger the dog, the better. Now all of that said, if somebody wants to enter your home bad enough, they are going to get in. You should have that mindset and try to protect your belongings in another way as discussed above. Conduct a self-survey of your home or contact your local police department as they will also send out a community policing officer to conduct a safety survey of your home if you aren't sure what to look for. Things like cutting back your trees and bushes. A majority of burglaries are conducted by smashing a window in the rear of the home, especially homes that do not abut another home to the rear. I could go on and on, but the general idea is you can do much more at a better value than a home security alarm system.
  13. OF just needs to play deep. I will make them put the ball in play, but with the rotation I tend to put on the ball, you will see lots of pop-ups and fly balls. Play deeper, limit the doubles/triples/ IP HR and we will be in the game.
  14. Don't get Happy Youngster started on what you should get for returning an important home run ball back to the Brewers http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  15. As an ASA umpire who has umpired at the college level, it has nothing to do with the feet. It's where the ball is touched in relation to the line. On the original question, Pops Of Andrew is absoultely corrected. The infield fly hand signal is given, while shouting, "Infield Fly Rule, if Fair"
  16. Ahh, the dreaded TBD starting pitching line. Will coach Jamie go with long reliever Barritt, who has good command but given up the long ball too often?? Or perhaps he'll go and get a spot start out of RHP Rink? Either way, check in and let's go back em up and get a win!
  17. Kenny, Jamie, Somebody with Mod Power, Please pin this the top. After much research, I have chosen to go with Greenfield Parks & Rec Department as the location for which to try and run the Brewerfan.net Fall League. I have umpired there a handful of times this spring/summer and the professionalism is first class. The Field location seems pretty central to the area. Konkel Park 51st and Layton. A few highlights: 1) The fields are well prepared 2) There is a fence in the outfield, in most cases eliminating the inside the park home-run. 3) The umpires are all ASA trained and sanctioned. 4) The field lighting is high above the ground. 5) The grass is well manicured, no potholes waiting to eat up our MCL, ACL, MSG and any other ligament / choloesteral abbrevations. 6) They do however use the dreaded 50 minute, 1 swing rules. A) The season is a five week, ten game season (pending rain), beginning on September 3rd or 4th, through the first week of October. B) Games can be Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday, please state your preference. C) Team fee is $180.00, which is up for discussion and the player fees are $6.00 for residents and $12.00 for non-residents of the City/Village/Whatever of Greenfield, WI. D) My deadline is August 7th, though, you know me, I'd like to have to done ASAP. I ) This is the only Brewerfan.net team that I know of, as there has not been one in the fall in the past. II ) Having both teams join to form one of team, essentially 20-24 players, is not feasible III ) Therefore, I have to try and delicately balance a first come, first serve type system while attempting to build the best team possible. IV) I would not refuse a player who could only play one night a week, but certainly discourage it if at all possible. Monologue: Yes, I'm the manager / coach. I run a tight ship. I like to win. I like to have fun. With winning comes fun. The spring/summer teams were very well positioned in terms of talent, however, if you want a spot, earn it and it's yours. (Let me clarify what I mean. If you want RF for example, but somebody else has been "grand-fathered" in on previous BF.net teams as the RF, go out and earn it and it's yours. I wont set a lineup or fielding positionings based upon the way it's always been done. Not that anything has been wrong in the past, but I wont be status quo, just to be status quo.) In every team I have ever coached, I have batted last and played catcher. I dont have a personal ego, I just want to win and will put guys in the best position to succeed given the talent. I realize this may be a turn off to some of you who don't like my style. However, I would never embarrass the Brewerfan.net brand name and am really looking forward to the season. In general, this team may seem more serious in terms of winning over fun, but to play two nights a week requires some committment to being a good ballplayer and everything else will fall into place. That said, there isn't a ballplayer on either team that I dont think meets these requirements, yet somehow we have to get from 24 players down to 12-15. Let me know your thoughts, in or out, best days for you and let's make it happen! ~~Luke
  18. Villanueva to the set-up role?
  19. When it's just him, or him and his family, he drives. When it's a large group, he limo's.
  20. There were 7 combined runs in 15 innings. I think the pitchers shined. Absent JD Drew, no hitter really did well, IMO
  21. Given his presumed financial stability. It wouldn't surprise me if an new Mercedes had been ordered off the showroom floor and delivered to the dock before the top of the 3rd inning.
  22. If anybody has a reference to finding the Brewers standard navy blue women's jersey, please let me know. It's not offered at MP, and not at the stores at southridge. I can't even find any on MLB.com nor Ebay. Plenty of the home whites, a few gray and plenty of throwbacks, but none of the navy blue.
  23. I dont see why that is crazy? This team is on pace to win 90 games. Considering the schedule strength is lower in the 2nd half, more home games, added the reigning Cy Young winner...why couldn't they play two games better than the pace they set in the 1st half?
  24. Two things: 1) What did Utley say under his breath? 2) So disappointing, What in god's name "little house on the prarie dress is Erin Andrews wearing tonight? Might ruin the whole show for me.
  25. Not sure if you were replying. My order was order of participation, not predicted order of placement.
