Well, silver lining, if Edmonds were in center field that would have been an inside the park home run by Pierce. LOL. Considering Narveson's pitch count already we'd better see Suppan for multiple innings today to save arms, or it is just another reason Macha should be fired.
Weeks played some poor defense on the recent homestand and has started every game this year. For a guy who played only 35 games last year they may want to consider giving him a day off. Macha's treatment of Weeks stands out especially considering how much Macha has talked about wanting to baby Escobar and Gomez as "young players" with limited starting experience. You'd think a player who is coming off basically a lost season would get the same type of treatment. For comparison Escobar has already had 7 days off, pinch hitting in 2 of those and appearing in the on deck circle in another.
Macha has made his own karma by bad decisions in the past. Most of the recent shortcomings haven't directly been his fault, but many of them are exacerbated by things he did previously (e.g. using Todd Coffey, Hawkins or Villanueva down 5 runs late just to save a guy's ego from giving up runs instead of letting him finish the game to save arms).
I'm 3-5. Yes, I've seen 3 of the 4 home victories! I've also seen two Trevor blown saves and Jeff Suppan get booed with a 15 run lead. I still have a good 10-15 games left this season, considering I'm sure I'll still pick up some dates I don't have yet.
You have to be kidding me. Wow. I have no words other than this team can't buy a win right now, but the game isn't over yet so I won't even go there! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
This is how Macha should have been using Suppan and Parra out of the bullpen all along to save arms. Better late than never I guess. Great job by Estrada to save the bullpen today. Hopefully Trevor can nail this one down!
Well, this is Parra's chance. Much like Narveson it is time for him to sink or swim. Hopefully he swims. I'm just glad he was given the opportunity over Suppan.
That sounded good off of Hart's bat, but the ball died in here with the roof closed. The scoreboard pictures are awesome today. All of the Brewers have photohopped afros with other additions (shades, chains, etc.).
Tab, the IGT was initially set up as Kendrick vs. Davis. So the picture is Kyle Kendrick. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I am headed out, doing a Brewery tour and catching dinner before the game. I'm busting out my new Brewers jersey today, time for some good mojo! The good Bush will show up, I can feel it!
I'm just trying to be optimistic, hawing. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I can't let myself get demoralized, I've still got 10 plus games of this team to watch in person this year! lol.
As if things weren't going swimmingly already, Haudricourt just tweeted: "Brewers scratch LHP Doug Davis from start tonight vs. Philly for unspecified medical reason. More later." Parra time? Will they ask Bush to pitch on 3-days rest and call up someone to start tomorrow? With the state of our bullpen currently this could get ugly fast.
Hamels is going vs. Davis tonight. It's an ESPN game. The stars are aligned against the Brewers, which means we'll end up scoring 9 runs and avoiding the sweep. Give us something to cheer about, sharpie!
I picked up We Are The Fallen's debut album, Tear The World Down, this week. Overall, I find the more I listen to the album the more I enjoy it. For anyone who liked the band Evanescence back in 2003-2005 it might be worth checking out. Three of the original members of Evanescence (Ben Moody, John LeCompt, and Rocky Gray) have teamed up with bassist Marty O'Brien and Carly Smithson from American Idol fame to create what I tongue-in-cheek like to call Ev 2.0. If you compare Ev's Fallen with Tear The World Down you'll hear the same rock crunch, similar musical arrangements, and overall a good album. This is mainly due to Ben's influence, as when Ben left Evanescence in 2003 much of that rock crunch went with him. Carly's no Amy Lee vocally, but overall the theme still works well.
I think it comes back to the pitching, again. When you give up 121 runs in 17 games you're not going to win many games. At home we've given up 5, 5, 4, 5, 7, 7, 8, 5, 12, 3, 7, 6, 8, 11, 9, 9, 10. Maybe we should bring the ivy back? lol.
This offense is terrible. Well, more of the same, poor management of a pitcher by Macha and a bullpen implosion. The day of reckoning is drawing nearer by the minute.
