  1. Charlie Bell is inactive today due to being late to a team meeting this morning. ESPN quoted Bell's response to his deactivation being "I wasn't going to play anyway." I really hope this quote was taken out of context, but if not that's a pretty poor attitude for a guy who could possibly contribute in a game 7. Yeah, he has fallen out of favor in the rotation, but still.
  2. Nice job, LaTroy. Trevor Time in San Diego. Some insurance runs would be great, but I have faith in Trevor!
  3. Nice outing by Yo. You know at this point Macha will use Hawkins because he is the 8th inning guy, right? lol.
  4. Either my Show game just had a glitch, or they incorporated guys losing balls in the sun into this game. I am playing an afternoon game in Washington bathed in sunlight. I hit a ball to left field and Willingham went back, slowed, looked up kind of like he didn't know where the ball was and the ball landed a good 10 feet behind him. I had a good laugh at that one.
  5. It is part of the ebb and flow. The team profiles to be about an average team and these are some of the valleys. I think that once the hitting and pitching connect instead of one doing well and the other not so well, people will be a lot more optimistic. Once the team figures out its dynamic and plays to that dynamic as well that will be helpful. I don't think they've fully figured out what that is or committed to it yet. That's also a part of the swagger I was talking about.
  6. I'm not talking about the losing streak, I was talking about the team in general. It just feels like the team has a different dynamic this year without Cameron, et al. The swagger is gone. Even when the Brewers had prolonged losing streaks in the past few years you could tell there was a swagger there. Right now it seems like after every strikeout guys are dejectedly walking back to the bench, spiking their helmets at the end of the inning, etc. I can imagine with the season the team has had so far guys are understandably frustrated, but continued pressing just creates more pressure, and at some point pressure busts pipes. Basically, I just hope this team finds its swagger soon, whatever that may be.
  7. It feels like this team has lost their swagger. It doesn't seem like they're having fun and the offense looks lethargic. They need to find some way to snap out of it.
  8. 12-16 Tie Breaker: Braun HRs + Weeks RBIs + YoGa wins = 4 + 9 + 3 = 16 Hoffman will blow at least 3 more saves in May, including a game YoGa should win. Braun won't have a big HR month, but Fielder will.
  9. Was sitting in the Splash Zone tonight. Good times, until the 9th inning of course. I still had hope we could come back, but the Pirates have to win sometime I guess. When is it time to start being slightly concerned about Trevor?
  10. Booing Suppan up 15 just feels wrong. I was one of three people in our section to clap for him.
  11. We're about to find out if a 10 run lead is safe, Suppan is pitching the 9th. This game is awesome. If only we could play the Pirates every day.
  12. I'm in section 108 jamming to Inglett's batting music. It appears to be Parra time at Miller Park.
  13. The way I see this is that they're giving Narveson a chance to stay with the club. If he flops as a starter it is likely he'll be gone as he hasn't done well out of the bullpen so far this year. The organization has more faith in Parra and they want to keep him around, so at this point they're trying to fish or cut bait on Narveson. If he fails, they then insert Parra into the rotation and get a guy like Stetter/Braddock back to the majors. If he succeeds, they then at some point will be forced to make a decision on Suppan.
  14. Can anybody help me out with Joe Inglett's music that he used today? It had a real gangster vibe, but was kind of cool. The best part of the game was when Inglett's music was followed by Kottaras' "Going Back to Cali."
  15. Narveson has given up a run in each of his last 5 outings. He hasn't had a good stretch recently.
  16. Gorman, If the game is in HD on WGN I might consider that as a legitimate option. Time for sharpie to have a good outing and get the Brewers on the board with a W.
  17. That's the thing about sports. You can have a favorite team, but even if that team isn't doing well, if you love the sport you'll still find enjoyment by watching other games. The Brewers game was thoroughly dejecting, but that Mets-Cardinals game was fun to watch.
  18. I'm ready for this game to end now, Mather pitching is painful to watch.
  19. Mather again Tony, really? Ugh. That was an ugly fielding play.
  20. We're tied! This game is ridiculous.
  21. Taking Holliday out has come back to hurt the Cardinals 3 times in extra innings already.
  22. Jeff Cirillo Mather is not. There is a tiny part of me that wants the Cardinals to tie it just so this game can go to the 20th inning, but I'm not sure I want to see Brendan Ryan pitch next inning. Pujols or bust!
  23. Lopez does something rare for even a Brewers reliever so far this year, a clean inning.
  24. Wow. Ryan makes an awful throw and the Mets pitcher still is thrown out at second. Get out of it, Felipe! LOL.
  25. Hey Doug, look at that hook on Lopez. Maybe your money would have been better spent on keeping him. LOL.
