The Pirates once again prove why they are the Pirates. Whether it is stranding the bases loaded with no out or giving up 7 runs in an inning, that's why they're a perennial loser.
Rickie Weeks now uses "Adrenaline Rush" by Twista. Braun changed his to something I don't recognize. I think it has Ne-Yo or T-Pain or someone in that ilk on it. Fielder has the music V100 used to use to intro Mellow Moods. I guess all these changes show I need to go to games more often, lol.
Nothing Ned did today can be complained about. Pulling CC for Kapler achieved the desired result, the bullpen just didn't make it stand up. Double switching in Nix for Braun was disappointing because it's Nix, but I get it. I give Yost a lot of credit for going to get Villanueva considering his past trangressions. Pulling CV for Mota was the right move considering who was left in the pen. Mota is either going to strike you out or give up a cornucopia of hits. The last thing we could afford there was a Gagne or McClung walk-a-thon. Mota had some luck on his side and did his job.
This was definitely a fun game to be at today. It was pretty awesome when Cameron got the curtain call in the 8th inning where the crowd stood and cheered through the first pitch of Hall's AB. Torres blowing the save really took the air out of the stadium until Mota's miracle working out of CV's jam. People stood and cheered for 2 minutes straight after that inning ended and the energy carried over into the walk off win.
1. Aramis Ramirez - Ever since the Pirates handed him to the Cubs for nothing he has been outrageously clutch for them. 2. Kevin Slowey - He brings the pain. 3. Geoff Blum - Brewer killer. 4. Alex Sanchez - Just a bum.
The Cubs have another 4 run lead on a Lee RBI single and an A-Ram 3-run jack. I saw that coming after Odalis Perez walked Soriano to lead off the inning. Fail.
61 BB/53 K? Ouch. Hopefully facing 3 lefties this series will be a benefit to us. It would be nice for Suppan to come out and pitch another good game as well.
Lets see if the dreaded Jorge Campillo can do any better against the Cards than the vaunted Charlie Morton did. As fans, it is kind of nice to know whether the Brewers can gain on anyone or will just need to hold serve tonight before the game even starts.
And with that Nationals run they have scored more runs on the Cubs today than they did in the entire 4 game series at Miller Park. With the wind blowing out a 3 run lead still doesn't feel very safe.
Willie Harris grand slam, 6-4 Natspos. Wait, what? So much for my prediction of doom, lol. I seriously left the room for 10 minutes and the Nats are leading.
I wish we had more games against the Nationals. Watching this team play baseball is depressing, yet amusing. 4-0 by the way. The Cubs will win this one by double digits easy.
The Cubs steal a run on a double steal. A-Ram struck out, Lee takes off to second, Washington's catcher throws down to second and Soriano takes home. Good job, Natspos. By the way, Ron Belliard is playing first base today. Yuck.
Nationals and Cubs are underway after a rain delay. Cardinals face the Braves and the vaunted Charlie Morton tonight. Mets and Johan Santana face Houston and Roy Oswalt tonight. Cubs are currently threatening with runners on the corners with 1 out in the first.
He's known for showing opposing batters the "door" after they strike out. There is actually a video about him on youtube from a news broadcast Channel 12 did last year. He has had those seats since the second year Miller Park was open, so he's pretty notorious by now.
