    That must be why a bunch of players decide to skip the Pro Bowl every year. Skipping it is one thing. Not being recognized or named to the team is another. No it's not. Unless they had bonuses tied to a Pro Bowl or All-whatever team appearance like a previous poster said, I doubt they pay any attention to it.

Not necessarily but why the hell would we take a risk that the last couple of years have been an aberration? Let some other team that actually needs an outfielder take that risk.

There is no need to point that out to me. My thing is we shouldn't be giving multi-year, 8 figure contracts to pitchers that are basically Peralta in his career here. If you want innings, just sign guys like Gallardo or Milone last year for next to nothing on one year commitments.

    Wily Peralta outperforms Chacin in a lot of categories since Peralta's major league debut. This signing sucks.

    I'd rather have Chacin over the next few years than Tyler Chatwood, who got a $38MM commitment. That doesn't make your post any less insane.
