  1. Bumgarner was really lucky he didn't get called for a balk.
  2. Ned Yost has a better playoff record than every manager that ever managed I'm guessing. Maybe someone else is 5-0 or 7-0 or something but he's undefeated.
  3. If we wouldn't have fired Yost in 2008, we still would've made the playoffs but instead of losing in the NLDS, we would've gone undefeated and won the World Series.
  4. I think it's pretty cool. It would be stupid if they just randomly did it but they are the O's, so I like it.
  5. Sounds unveil new logo and it is really, really ugly. http://nashville.sounds.milb.com/assets/images/3/7/0/98037370/cuts/Article_Logo_3_pym0svps_2w4u5h9b.jpg

  7. Actually, thinking about it now, I'm pretty sure they got rid of Iorg because there's no point in having a 1st base coach when nobody is ever on base.
  8. My feelings exactly. I hate 3 teams in MLB, the Red Sox, the Cards, and the Giants... I'm so sick of all 3... I don't hate the Giants. I'd just like to see different teams but going up against the Cardinals, they've been there even more. Plus they're douches, so easy choice.
  9. I understand why Narron was fired because somebody had to take the fall and offense collapsed down the stretch (but are we really surprised that Overbay/Reynolds couldn't hit, Davis was hurt, Braun was hurt, Ramirez was probably worn down due to age etc.) Iorg getting let go is weird. It's like they discussed it and decided one coach wasn't enough so they put Iorg, Sedar, Tunnell, and Shelby names in a hat, picked one and whoever got picked got fired.
  10. I despise the one game playoff too. The problem is I would guess you put the division winner who faces them at a disadvantage with all of the off days if you go best of 3. I would suggest the wildcard a day after the regular season ends (assuming no tiebreakers are needed) and then the Division Series starts the next day no matter how far the wildcard team has to travel. That gives the team with the best record in the league an advantage with minimal time off for them.
  11. Balfour posted a 5 ERA and 6 BB/9 this year after the A's let him go. He is not the example to use if you're trying to make a point on keeping a closer.
  12. I wouldn't go $7 million for one year. 93% strand rate, .216 BABIP, 1.85 HR/9. Stay far, far away. Don't even want him back at all really.
  13. This is a 21 year who through his age 19-21 seasons hit .272/.351/.465 including posting an .854 OPS in his age 20 season, higher than Gomez has ever posted. The Nationals laugh the Brewers off the phone to be quite honest.
  14. If you use something like D-Con, it is possible because the active ingredient (Brodifacoum) has a long shelf life and stays inside the dead animal. Luckily, it takes a lot to take down a human (if you have a bigger dog, it should be fine, even if it does find a few mice which seems unlikely to me.) However, if your dog is poisoned, which like I said is extremely rare the treatment is Vitamin K1, typically taken for 30 days after being prescribed by your vet.
  15. That might be the best sign I've ever seen. Shame I had just turned the game on so I can't take a picture. Tigers Bullpen Struggles Very Funny
  16. So why is Anibal Sanchez in the bullpen? He's their 3rd best starter, taking over in the 6th for their worst starter. I know he was hurt but even if you only get 4 or 5 innings a start from him, it's probably better than what you're going to get from Verlander.
  17. Why are we comparing actual baseball to fantasy baseball? Unless the pitcher is an absolute stud, think Kershaw or King Felix, they're not being drafted in the first few rounds. Just looking back at the draft I was in Johnny Cueto went in the 10th round. Corey Kluber went in the 14th round. Mike Leake went in the 20th round. Tim Hudson 21st round. If you're going by round you'd have to count all the pitchers that went ahead of him and then place him like that but even that isn't a good measure. Just a quick look it looks like Gallardo was around the 50th SP in my league which puts him as a lower tier #2.
  18. Doesn't it make more sense to have a separate thread for every series instead of mashing everything into one thread?
  19. Just change this from Yankees to game last night vs game tonight.
  20. I remember that game. I just graduated from high school and Ohka was terrible in the 1st inning, so I was outside grilling and listening to Uecker and I ran back in when he started his call so I could see it on replay. Then I started going crazy in the living room when Prince hit his. It was weird because I didn't really think he hit it that well off the bat and then it sails over the bullpen and I'm thinking crap, this guy has some serious power.
  21. Uh, haven't you seen enough of a fundamental-less team? In case you missed the past two months, it's why were sitting at home this postseason. I'd love Gardy in Milwaukee. We're sitting at home because nobody got on base and stupid running mistakes. One could argue that's fundamentals but stupid running mistakes stop with a manager who says stop running.
  22. Fundamentals to me just screams crap load of small ball, which would infuriate me.
