  1. We probably don't have enough to get him.
  2. I'd love to get Cameron back and like I said in the Greinke thread. The Brewers are going for it, I hope they expand their payroll this year to fill other holes (mainly CF and SS).
  3. Bavasi did. I would go after Renteria or Nick Punto. Punto is basically Escobar of 2010. Sign Counsell and you have really good defense at SS next year.
  4. He's fat, lazy and awful at baseball.
  5. You're way too nice hawing. Just put some stuff on a tray, if they don't like it, too bad.
  6. I certainly hope they don't stop spending money on this. I don't want Betancourt starting for this team anywhere. I'd ask Boston about Scutaro or sign Orlando Cabrera or Renteria. I'd also ask the Red Sox about Cameron.
  7. I would take Wainwright/Carpenter/Garcia/Westbrook/Lohse over our 5.
  8. Kind of a weird tweet. Writing about Scooter Gennett at 1:30 in the morning is fun. Who needs a trade? http://twitter.com/Kevin_Goldstein/status/16397260988354560
  9. My contact in KC was not able to confirm a deal has been made with Greinke, either, so don't know what else to say at this point. http://twitter.com/Haudri...status/16389617762697216
  10. Bill Shanks (Braves writer) is saying he's hearing the trade is going to happen too.
  11. I'd probably try to get Cameron and Scutaro from them, see what it would take.
  12. I still think it would be a Dickerson (.783 career OPS vs righties) and Gomez platoon.
  13. Concussion.
  14. I just have a hard time believing that Hart, Escobar and Braddock would come anywhere close to getting Greinke and that other teams wouldn't make much better offers.
  15. Anders Lindback is an absolute stud. Only allowed one goal last night to New Jersey on the power play with quite frankly, some bad defense. Now 9-1-2 on the year with a 2.08 GAA and 93.1 save percentage. Milwaukee shutout Lake Erie last night 3-0 in Jeremy Smith's first AHL shutout. Rinne is supposed to be back soon for Nashville which means Dekanich will be back in Milwaukee soon and that performance by Smith last night likely means Chet Pickard is heading back down to Cincinnati.
  16. Not the NBA, but still basketball. http://a323.yahoofs.com/ymg/ept_sports_ncaab_experts__22/ept_sports_ncaab_experts-182862495-1290458342.jpg?ymmjGIEDVDjF3NS1
  17. And the previous three years were .275, .254 and .247. I don't think either is a bad target, but I'd prefer Shields. Possibly another year of control as well as buying low. Some comparisons between Garza and Shields. I'm not using Shields' 2010 season to show just how similar they are. Garza - 3.86 ERA Shields - 4.01 ERA Garza - 3.05 BB/9 Shields 1.93 BB/9 Garza - 7.10 K/9 Shields - 7.15 K/9 Garza - 1.09 HR/9 Shields - 1.15 HR/9 They're pretty much the same. The only difference between Shields' 2010 and his previous three seasons is a 3% drop in his LOB%, a .354 BABIP (career .314) and the highest HR/FB% of his career (13.8% 2010 to 11.7% career.) Now if you think that's an outlier, he's an excellent buy low candidate. If you think that's going to be a trend, you would probably want Garza instead. I think it's an outlier, so I'd be willing to gamble on Shields.
  18. Yeah, Quick was amazing. 51 has to be close if it isn't. It's amazing what Lindback is doing, came over from Europe and was fighting with Dekanich for the backup job and beat him out just barely. Speaking of amazing goaltender performances, 2008 AHL playoffs Philadelphia Phantoms vs Albany River Rats. Michael Leighton (now with the Flyers) faced 101 shots and saved 98 of them. Unfortunately, Albany only let in two goals and the River Rats ended up winning 3-2 2:58 into the 5th overtime. http://theahl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=1004697 And here's video of the GWG.
  19. How soon we forget him breaking up Bush's no hitter.
  20. Not worth a new thread and there's really no where else to put this but I loved Keith Law's line to open his chat today.
  21. Ha. Awesome goal. Predators win again tonight with two late goals. Now 4th in the conference, 2nd in the division. Anders Lindback has done an amazing job filling in for Pekka. Linus Klasen is the best offensive player the Admirals have had since Darren Haydar.
  22. That last play is why it's so hard to get into the NBA. All three refs looking at Ginobili take 2 steps and then jump backwards and not one of them calls a travel. It's why I watch the NHL over the NBA whenever I get the chance.
  23. That annoys me too Stevo. Still not as bad as John Sterling though and John Sterling is better than Suzyn Waldman and just keep going down the line.
  24. Yeah, she hasn't been with MLB Network for a while and is on the D-List quite a bit. Her and Jen Lada (another hottie) do a podcast on 540 every week. http://www.stationcaster....d.php?s=71&c=720&f=64884
