  2. Taking away Fielder and replacing him with Greinke. Ehh, it just doesn't make us much better. I'd rather use 2011 as a rebuilding year.
  3. I just don't think this team should be doing deals like that right now. Edit: Also, Shelby Miller is a Cardinals prospect.
  4. You can see the desperation in the Giants swings. Way overswinging.
  5. "Nate Shy-er-holtz" Coshun is just as brutal as WMLW.
  6. Ken Rosenthal (take with a huge grain of salt) says it's uncertain whether Peterson will return.
  7. He has a SLG% of almost 1.000 this month, which is insane, no matter where he's hitting. His SLG% was .497 on September 1st. It is now .597.
  8. This is wrong. Escobar played 147 games and compiled 555 at bats last season between Nashville and Milwaukee and then played for Cardenales de Lara in the Venezuelan Winter League where he played 45 more games and got 173 more at bats.
  9. Ogden with a field goal to get on the board. 14-3.
  10. 8-0 Helena in the 4th. Let's just say it's going to take an epic chokejob by Helena to not win the title. Edit: Hawn has 2 homers and 6 RBI tonight.
  11. I certainly don't mind watching her talk about getting a college degree in her pajamas.? Now the one with the "waitress" singing, that one annoys me.
  12. Coming up on Brewers Live Postgame. Telly Hughes interviews Carlos Gomez!
  13. Rogers just pitched another inning. This time he was in the 91-93 range. I wonder if that would be what's best for Rogers, ease up and throw in the 91-94 range to get better control which is what Brandon Morrow did this year.
  14. You enjoying Carlos Lee, Astros fans? That was embarrassing.
  15. Interleague schedules for other NL Central teams: Cubs: @ Red Sox, vs Yankees, @ Royals, vs White Sox, @ White Sox Cardinals: @ Royals, vs Royals, vs Blue Jays, @ Orioles, @ Rays Astros: @ Blue Jays, @ Rangers, vs Rays, vs Rangers, vs Red Sox Pirates: vs Tigers, @ Indians, vs Orioles, vs Red Sox, @ Blue Jays Reds: @ Indians, vs Blue Jays, vs Yankees, vs Orioles, @ Rays, vs Indians Cardinals get a sweetheart interleague schedule. Edit: Anyone check out our schedule from May 2nd to July 24th? 36.8% of the games played in that stretch will be against teams 20 or more games over .500 this year. 48.7% of the games in that stretch will be played against teams 15 or more games over .500. 57.9% of the games played in that stretch will be against teams 10 or more games over .500. 65.8% of the games in that stretch will be played against teams 5 or more games over .500. 71.1% of the games in that stretch will be played against teams over .500. I know there are some surprises and disappointments every year, but most of the teams we're playing having staying power imo. The only team that I'm not sure about is the Padres. That's just a brutal stretch with very few breaks. We have the Pirates and Nationals at home for 3 each in May, the Mets at home for 3 in early June, though they're decent and probably better than us, the Cubs on the road for 4 in mid June, though we always have trouble with them (haven't won a season series against them since 2005) and Arizona for 7 games in July, 3 at home from the 4th-6th and 4 on the road from the 18th-21st. That's it. Honestly, if they try to compete next year, that schedule will very likely bury them early. I would be shocked if we won more than 30 games in that stretch.
  16. Pineiro has one year left on his deal. We're giving up four years of McGehee. Why exactly would we do that?
  17. Team record the previous year has nothing to do with interleague schedules. I'm not really sure how they determine it, but the way interleague is now sucks. Just bite the bullet and put 15 teams in each league and have interleague matchups going throughout the year. I don't want to see Boston again. We saw them in 2008 and if we do have to play Boston again, why can't we play them here? The last time they played at Miller Park was 2003. When was the last time we played at Oakland or at Seattle? Heck, when was the last time we played Oakland anywhere?
  18. No. I love Sheets, but just no. There is no Brewer who played with the team from the mid 90s to mid 2000s that is worthy of having their number retired. The question you're asking is almost like asking if the Reds should retire Aaron Harang's number when he retires.
  19. Why the hell would we want Piniero for McGehee?
  20. He's been a 5 WAR player this year, our best player as well. He's not very replaceable. And how has he shot himself in the foot? His agent left and he had to find a new one. Did you think he should've negotiated an extension by himself? I will also eat a rock and drink glue (can you really drink glue?) if there were 20,000 people there tonight much less the listed 31,000+.
  21. Fielder's consecutive games played streak ends tonight at 327, scratched with the flu. McGehee moves to 1st base and Gamel (!!!!) gets the start at 3rd. http://www.ishouldhavebeenanastronaut.com/brewfan/dates/september/13.jpghttp://www.ishouldhavebeenanastronaut.com/brewfan/logos/at-astros.jpg 66-7668-75http://www.ishouldhavebeenanastronaut.com/brewfan/header-pitching.jpghttp://www.ishouldhavebeenanastronaut.com/brewfan/pitchers/mb/cn-10.jpghttp://www.ishouldhavebeenanastronaut.com/brewfan/pitchers/ha/bm-1.jpgChris Narveson11-7 | 5.20Astros vs. Narveson Narveson Game Log Brett Myers11-7 | 2.91Brewers vs. Myers Myers Game Log http://www.ishouldhavebeenanastronaut.com/brewfan/header-lineups.jpg2B Rickie WeeksSS Alcides EscobarLF Ryan Braun1B Casey McGeheeRF Corey Hart3B Mat GamelCF Carlos GomezC Jonathan LucroyLHP Chris NarvesonCF Michael Bourn 2B Jeff Keppinger RF Hunter Pence LF Carlos Lee 3B Chris Johnson 1B Brett Wallace SS Tommy Manzella C Humberto Quintero RHP Brett Myers http://www.ishouldhavebeenanastronaut.com/brewfan/header-media.jpghttp://www.ishouldhavebeenanastronaut.com/brewfan/media-fsn.jpgMLB GameDay 2010 | ESPN GameCast Sportsline GameCenter | 620 WTMJ Affiliates http://www.ishouldhavebeenanastronaut.com/brewfan/header-fansites.jpgAstros Fan Forum | Astros Baseball Talk
  22. That .399 OBP must be refreshing to Braves fans considering what their last right fielder thought about OBP.
