  1. Burnett was pitching against Bush, not McGowan. As far as what he'd cost, more than he's currently worth. Toronto has no reason to trade him at his all-time low of value coming off surgery that kept him out the entire year. Plus, they're rebuilding, so having a cheap pitcher is probably appealing to them. Certainly more appealing than any offers they would get for him right now.
  2. I think this Japanese speed skater's uniform is made of gold leaf.
  3. Melvin didn't get more efficient with his spending. The Hawkins and Hoffman signings prove that. That's over $10 million in payroll for 60 inning relievers.
  4. Willingham's career UZR/150 is -5.3, Hart's is -1.5.
  5. Someone other than the goalie (it looked like McDonagh to me) covered the puck in the crease and then threw it out. I didn't catch it watching live, but it's pretty clear when you focus in on the player as he clearly covers the puck and then takes his left hand and throws it out.
  6. Didn't buy tickets, but here's the info on tickets. If they don't come within the next couple of days, you should contact the Marquette ticket office.
  7. I thought he was already retired.
  8. Huh? At the time, Marcum and Bush topped out at around 90-91. Bush has thrown harder than Marcum every year except for 2005 (89.4 vs 89.1).
  9. I don't know how Brandon Morrow wasn't an option. He ended up being traded for a reliever and A ball outfielder who's only a decent prospect.
  10. He has a house in Arizona and goes there every February.
  11. What a horrible game by the Badgers.
  12. As a Badger fan, I like this bracket projection the best. #3 seed in Milwaukee and the St. Louis region and just looking at the other teams in there, I think the Badgers are better than all the lower seeds and I think they matchup well with West Virginia and I think they could at the very least hang tough against Kansas.
  13. Gonzaga is getting way too friendly of a seed and location imo. I know they beat Wisconsin head to head on a neutral court, but that's their best win. They got absolutely stomped by Duke at Madison Square Garden, a 36 point loss. Wins against Mississippi Valley State, IPFW, Colorado, Cincinnati, Washington State, Augustana Illinois, Davidson, Eastern Washington, Oklahoma, Illinois, Portland, St. Mary's, San Diego, Pepperdine, Loyola Marymount, Santa Clara, Portland and Memphis aren't that impressive. How do they get a 5 seed in Spokane? That is literally a home game for them.
  14. I remember that, but I think it was before free agency started so obviously Wolf and Davis are guarantees as well.
  15. To be fair, I would've asked for maintenance too. The crease was terrible. Just a sloppy mess with water and snow all over the place. Michigan asked that they switch sides halfway through the third so they would have equal amounts of time in the bad area, Wisconsin declined.
  16. In what way was Hart's 2008 season similar to his 2007 season? He had an .892 OPS in 2007. Heading into September of 2008 he had an .817 OPS.
  17. Overall, Badgers were very fortunate to win this game.
  18. Michigan gets a breakaway, Gudmandson makes an outstanding save and gets plowed over Wohlberg. Interference, Badgers on the power play with 56.9 seconds remaining.
  19. SMITH AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1:22 remaining, 3-2 Bucky!
  20. Badgers on the power play with 1:56 remaining. Come on Bucky!
  21. Michigan has completed dominated this game. Even after the Badgers tied it, Michigan has come back with several good chances.
  22. Big goal! Brendan Smith ties it up 10 seconds into the power play. 5:32 to go.
  23. It's actually 1-1. Michigan scored with like a minute left in the first. Not a good first period to me. Lots of odd man rushes for Michigan and Wisconsin was sloppy in the offensive zone.
  24. Not the whole game, but is on youtube with Posick's call. I remember watching that game. Elliott made some crazy saves in that one.
