  1. I'm not a huge fan of the Wolf deal, but even I would take it a million times out of a million over Marquis' deal.
  2. I don't know about Madison, but in Milwaukee prior to the 2008-2009 season the scoreboard was always the main FSN scoreboard. I remember them saying something about FSN decided not to carry as many games or something a couple years ago, which sucks because that means we only get Wisconsin Public Television games at 10:30 and even those aren't on every game.
  3. It's not because of Bucks games. They just decided to do big time cutbacks on FSN that I don't even think FSN produces it anymore. Ever notice the scoreboard they have when a game is on FSN? It's never the "official" scoreboard they have for other FSN games. For instance, I get a lot of Minnesota hockey games since I also get FSN North. This is the "official" scoreboard for FSN. This is the scoreboard we get even when the games are on FSN.
  4. I'm in Hartland. I didn't even notice, probably because I didn't want to look. I shoveled a few inches of snow yesterday when they said accumulations would be less than an inch.
  5. 1. Casey McGehee. Probably just as good of a bat as Cabrera and cheaper as well. 2. Vizcaino is in A ball. Take your choice of Odorizzi, Peralta and Scarpetta. 3. Zach Braddock. A lefty who had the best rated slider in the Brewers' system, doesn't throw as hard (low 90s) but also has much better control (5.65 BB/9 for Dunn and 1.56 BB/9 for Braddock) and a better strikeout rate (12.15 K/9 for Dunn and 13.84 K/9 for Braddock.) That's just as good of a package and probably better than what the Braves got.
  6. Who hates him? Just because we disagree with his moves means we hate him? I'd rather trade for Vazquez, especially considering what it took for a few reasons. 1. It's only a one year deal. I'd rather have a veteran pitcher on a one year deal than a three year deal. 2. I think Vazquez is a better pitcher than Wolf. 3. Draft pick compensation. 4. With Suppan, Hall and Riske's contracts off the books next year, we would have a ton of payroll flexibility to do a bunch of things. With Hawkins and Wolf now taking $13.5 million in 2011, that flexibility is now much more limited. But yes, it's all just hatred of Melvin. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  7. Why does that matter? Hawkins + Wolf = $12 million or so. If we don't sign either we can trade for Vazquez. We could still have Hoffman in that scenario and we could've kept Coffey by adding another prospect or something.
  8. That would be just fine with me.
  9. Well not now obviously, but we were before we signed Wolf and Hawkins.
  10. Don't hate the Yankees, hate the Braves for settling on this. The only worthwhile piece is Vizcaino and he hasn't been above A ball.
  11. You can find a player's Winter League stats on minorleaguebaseball.com and just typing in a name. Here's Salome's stats.
  12. Not sure if this has happened in previous years, but they averaged 6,013 in the regular season but only 2,110 in the playoffs.
  13. It's not illegal, but they only do it for playoff games.
  14. Hee-hee. I hope they make him their #5 starter!
  15. Out of the listed I would go with Felix, Doc, Gallardo and Lester. Atlanta should be interesting as well between Vazquez, Hudson, Jurrjens and Hanson though I'm guessing Vazquez will get that start. Carpenter and Wainwright for the Cardinals. Buehrle and Peavy for the White Sox.
  16. It's true. Another reason Squad 6 is great.
  17. Agreed. If that's the best offer we get for Fielder, it's much better just to keep him. Not take on a bunch of mediocre prospects
  18. Two big road wins for my teams last night. Wild get the win in Montreal thanks to some stellar goaltending by Niklas Backstrom. Nashville gets a 6-3 win in Edmonton after giving up the first two goals in the first five minutes of the game, they come back with three goals in 4:46 from Ryan Jones, Joel Ward and Marcel Goc. The Oilers cut the lead to 4-3 with 5:50 to go in the second but Patric Hornqvist's powerplay goal with four seconds left in the second period gave the Preds a 5-3 lead.
  19. Been a while since anyone has posted in this thread. After a slow start the Predators have played very well and are now 20-11-3 which is only good for 2nd place in the Central Division and 5th place in the Western Conference. Wild doing better, but still out of the playoffs by four points. The Admirals have won five straight games and now now in 2nd place in the Western Conference West Division behind the Texas Stars. The five game winning streak is pretty impressive since three of the games came on the road (Grand Rapids, Toronto and Hamilton) all three of those teams have winning percentages of .537 or better and the other two were at home against Manitoba with a .545 winning percentage and San Antonio who is in last place. But still, four out of the five wins have been very impressive. The Admirals (15-8-1-4) take on the hated Wolves (13-13-0-2) tomorrow in Chicago.
  20. This is why I spend my money on Admirals games and apparel and not on the Bucks. I'm not putting any money in that crook Stern's pockets. Somebody in the media really needs to step up and interview Donaghy better than what they did on 60 minutes. There's no doubt Donaghy is telling the truth, he just needs someplace to say it.
  21. He was Type A but wasn't offered arbitration.
  22. I don't consider them three of their best prospects. Aumont was going to stay in the bullpen if he was with the Mariners so that limited his value to them, Ramirez, while a good prospect is not a great prospect and Gillies isn't even their best outfield prospect. More like a Michael Brantley type, good, not great. There were no elite prospects in this deal and at worst they get one year of elite pitching and two picks to replace two of the three prospects they gave up.
  23. Getting one of the best pitchers in the game at a bargain price?
  24. I'm just glad it wasn't with the Cubs.
  25. It was Kevin Garnett.
