  1. If he sends an email back, I'd love it if you posted it here. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  2. Braun played 3B in college and the minors and was moved to the outfield officially in the offseason so he had a month or two before spring training to work on playing the outfield and all of spring training.
  3. I think overall Weeks and Lopez are similar defenders. The problem with Weeks imo is that he still has trouble turning the double play. His feet still get tangled a lot and it ends up causing an awkward throw that sometimes leads to throws that are nowhere near Fielder.
  4. Hard to argue with 3 out of 4 points against the top ranked team in the nation. Sounded like a very entertaining game. Can't wait to watch it at 10:30.
  5. I'll once again say that I absolutely hate how they do overtime in college hockey. Five minutes is not enough time and if you are going to go with five minutes at least play 4 on 4 or 3 on 3 like I would prefer to open up the ice. Still hard to complain about coming away with a point against the top ranked team in the nation when you were down 2-0 in the third period. Gudmandson was awful on that last goal. Just a terrible angle. He sort of made up for it in overtime making some huge saves. Denver likely would've won if their guys noticed two Denver players down right by Gudmandson with no Badger in sight. He waited too long to deliver the pass. Badgers now 0-6-15 in their last 21 overtime games. That's pretty pathetic.
  6. It was June 2005. I was at that game too sitting in the field level bleachers in right field. The Cubs won the first two games of that series so their fans were talking more trash than usual. It didn't make it 8-2 though. It was a two run double that made it 3-0. Davis and Miller were on 2nd and 3rd respectively, Brady Clark singled them in, Overbay got on and then Carlos Lee hit a homer to left making it 8-0 in the 2nd inning. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  7. You do realize the guy replacing Cameron is a career .246 hitter with a much worse OBP and SLG%, right? Also, if Gomez was given the same number of at bats as Cameron last year, he would've been on pace to strike out 125 times. Not a far cry from Cameron's 156.
  8. Counsell is interesting because he drastically changed his batting stance so I could still see him being a .265/.340/.375 player or something like that. I don't think he's going to go down to Jason Kendall levels in the power department. I think Gerut will improve. .243 BABIP last year, way short of his career .280 mark. Also remember that Gerut, Catalanotto, Nelson and Duffy combined for 358 at bats and hit a combined .229/.301/.330/.631.
  9. Hall had 214 at bats of a .606 OPS.
  10. I see downgrades at 2B, CF and maybe 1B and LF as well. Braun and Fielder were great last year, they'll be great again this year, but I'm not sure they'll be as great. For reference, here's what each position posted last year. C - .242/.331/.317/.648 1B - .299/.412/.602/1.014 2B - .303/.377/.474/.851 SS - .247/.306/.355/.661 3B - .267/.330/.439/.769 LF - .309/.373/.530/.903 CF - .241/.329/.432/.761 RF - .270/.340/.425/.765
  11. I'm just glad we have some depth in the infield so we don't need to make a trade if Weeks goes down. McGehee can shift over to second and Gamel can play third or Heether could play second or third.
  12. For $2,025,002. $50,000 short of the midpoint which he can earn in incentives.
  13. Arizona had a 21.6 UZR, the Brewers had a 9.9 UZR. In 2008 Arizona was terrible, like -26 or something like that.
  14. Elliott was awesome. That matchup between him and Schneider in the National Championship game was great. Too bad for Schneider is he's still stuck with Manitoba behind Luongo and Raycroft in Vancouver. As for Bennett, I'll have to watch him more when I get the chance, maybe he'll play on Friday. I don't get very many games. I will say though that if your defensemen are offensive minded and taking risks, you're more likely to take risks to clear the puck that you wouldn't normally take.
  15. 2003 the team UZR was -70.8, worst in the majors. 2004 the team UZR was -15.4, 21st in the majors. 2005 the team UZR was -0.4, 19th in the majors. 2006 the team UZR was 0.6, 16th in the majors.
  16. I can understand why people are against this move, but not because he's a lefty and there are a bunch of good right handed hitters in the division. Davis has been better against righties than lefties throughout his career.
  17. Comparing Alexander to Haislip is an insult to Haislip.
  18. Midpoint numbers for each remaining player. Coffey - $2.075M Hart - $4.475M Bush - $4.2875M Villanueva - $.9375M I estimated the seven arbitration eligible players would make $17.95M, if the rest settle at the midpoint they'll be making $17.625M.
  19. So is Parra.
  20. He didn't pitch horribly prior to September. He was awful in his first two appearances (hardly shocking for a guy with only 9 innings of previous experience in the big leagues). He was the #86 prospect in baseball back in 2002 and was a top three prospect for the Cardinals for three straight years before injuries, so it's pretty obvious he has talent.
  21. That doesn't work in the NBA.
  22. That free agent "accepted, double offer, (re)-accepted, vesting option" was hilarious.
