  1. Just watching him this year he has gotten so much better at digging out throws as well. At least imo.
  2. That is the funniest thing I've ever heard.
  3. How can you not sell-out a playoff game? I know the seats that were empty weren't very good, but come on! I would go to a playoff game in a second if I had the money, bad seat or not. Maybe it's just the Brewers fan in me thinking you never know when the next playoff appearance will be.
  4. I don't see either being available without an insane amount of talent going to the Marlins, but I think Nolasco would be much, much, much more "gettable" than Johnson.
  5. Melvin did say he went hard after Washburn at the deadline. Why I don't know, but he did.
  6. Maybe if Washburn and Davis were top starting pitchers people wouldn't have a problem with them. Problem is, they're not and I personally have no desire to see soft tossers with below average strikeout rates (and in Davis' case a below average walk rate as well) in our starting rotation.
  7. I agree. If the AA or AAA guy projects better than the MLB starter that would be offered, I'd prefer it if we take the AA or AAA guy.
  8. That would definitely surprise me. I know Dayton Moore isn't a good GM, but I can't think he's that bad to settle on that deal when there's absolutely no reason to.
  9. Absolutely nothing. High five anyone?
  10. I don't think anyone will take Wells and I don't think the Jays will want to de-value the asset of Halladay by attaching Wells to the deal and also pay a bunch of Wells' salary.
  11. That's pretty low of the Phillies to take her to the clubhouse without her parents, but it's also pretty stupid of the parents to allow them to do it.
  12. Sounds like you might be right. Link
  13. What did Ash say about internal options that they were high on? What position?
  14. He actually said "not getting injured very often." http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  15. "Pitchers are a high risk to trade for."
  16. For those who can't listen, they can follow on the Brewers blog.
  17. On Ben Sheets: "The bridge hasn't been burned. Any comment Gord?" That seemed kind of strange to just say that and then have Ash comment on it. Gord says of course they'd be interested but they don't know how rehab is going since he's no longer in their care.
  18. "Pitchers have the upper hand in negotiations right now. At least in our situation."
  19. "We may have to sacrifice some of our offense for pitching." -Doug Melvin
  20. A few great games that I watched last night. Flyers beat the Capitals in overtime 6-5. Richards with a hat trick. The Wild came back from a 3-0 third period deficit to send the game into overtime. Brunette got the game winner on OT on a power play off a rebound from Giguere putting it top shelf. Belanger got the tying goal on the powerplay with just over two minutes left on a sharp angled shot from just above the left circle. Edmonton and Dallas also went to overtime, but it wasn't decided then (although Edmonton was close as Patrick O'Sullivan fed Tom Gilbert from the left circle down to the crease, but Marty Turco slid across and made the save.) I was sort of hoping for that goal because it would be O'Sullivan to Gilbert. Gilbert O'Sullivan connection, get it? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Edmonton ended up winning the shootout 1-0. The only tally came in the third round from Ales Hemsky.
  21. Not sure how valid this is. Young is an out machine, but Casilla is an even bigger out machine and there were two more out machines coming up (Tolbert and Punto) and Rodney hasn't had a huge platoon split the past four years.

  23. If Hoffman went three innings his fastball would be clocked at about 55.
  24. His name is Clete Thomas. Welcome to the game, TLB. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  25. Wow, looking at that replay, he was safe.
