  1. So I'm assuming your dog is a puggle from looking at it. Am I right?
  2. Your dog looks almost identical to mine. For that, she gets a 5. And after I voted, she moved into 2nd place.
  3. If Varitek gets a 4 year $52.4 million deal I'm going to teach myself to become right handed and become a catcher. I'm serious too.
  4. I know he wore #37 in Huntsville and I think he was #60 in Nashville. I'm not sure what number he was in spring training of 2005.
  5. Wow. I hope Doug explores this. 2 years $23 million isn't bad at all.
  6. Link Tell me where he said he doesn't think he's worth it?
  7. Well see, your problem right here is thinking that Cameron is a low OBP player. I posted the graph once, I guess I'll post it again. http://www.fangraphs.com/graphs/1070_OF_season_full_1_20080930.png Cameron is not a problem in regards to our low OBP. The culprits are Hall and Hart and to a lesser extent Kendall, but most catchers can't hit and his OBP is okay.
  8. Yeah, the only thing I remember from his time in New York was that "incident" on the streets with that camera man.
  9. When you think about it though, signing Teixeira makes more sense than signing Sabathia. Teixeira, like all position players would be less of an injury risk, they're both going to get a ton of money, but Teixeira is also a great player like Sabathia. Signing Teixeira would then allow us to trade Fielder for pitching.
  10. A couple nice add ons to the blog with quotes from Melvin and Cameron. Cameron was surprised they picked it up, but very happy to be back. Link
  11. Not many players have a "very good" OBP. Cameron is right around the average and has been for several years. http://www.fangraphs.com/graphs/1070_OF_season_full_1_20080930.png
  12. Willis only makes a few million less over the next two years than Suppan. At least Suppan can pitch and eat up innings. I'd pass, Willis is the starting pitching version of Turnbow.
  13. On realgm we had summer league game threads, Potsie was playing terribly throughout the whole summer league and one of our mods on there came up with the name Potsie. If anybody doesn't get it, here's a quote from Wikipedia about Potsie from Happy Days. So one of the mods first called him that, we kept it going after he first called him that, Charlie Bell reads and occasionally posts on realgm and I guess he passed it on to the team who started calling him that.
  14. Solid win on the back to back tonight. Easily the best part of the game was when Mike Breen called Joe Alexander Potsie. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  15. No way the Dodgers give up Billingsley.
  16. This team needs to be consistently good for fan support. And by good I mean a perennial playoff team that doesn't eek in as an 8th seed with a losing or .500 record. Nobody's getting excited about that.
  17. I completely agree. That would've given us a good big so we could play one less of Allen and Gadzuric. He's also very likely to have more trade value going forward if we would decide to go that route. A quality big is more valuable than a quality wing (and you can't even call Potsie quality right now.) Lopez so far is averaging 9 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks in 22 minutes this year. I know it's only two games, but at least he can get off the bench.
  18. Garland = Suppan. I'd rather not have another Suppan.
  19. I like how Moises Alou, a guy who has played 102 games total the past two years garners the same compensation as Mike Cameron and Milton Bradley.
  20. How's he burning him? It's pretty much common sense what he said. The top free agent on the market, in his prime is going to cost a ton of money, only a few teams can afford him. Durham, an aging, mid-tier free agent could have a lot of suitors depending on his asking price.
  21. We actually traded Wayne Franklin and Leo Estrella for Carlos Villanueva and Glenn Woolard. If Hardy was a Jack Z. draftee then Parra was too because they were both drafted the same year.
  22. No, those picks are ours. Say Sabathia signs with the Dodgers, we get the Dodgers first round pick. Then if we go out and sign Juan Cruz, the D'Backs would get our first round pick.
  23. Not even Counsell could grit his way to a $3.4 million salary.
  24. Since when is Miller Park a pitchers park? Edit: Also like the guy saying we need a 4/5 starter. No, we have plenty of those guys (Suppan, McClung, Bush, Villanueva) what we need is a 1/2 starter to replace Sheets and Sabathia (assuming they leave.)
