  1. Why would the Royals take Hall for DeJesus? And dude, Braun isn't going back to 3B... ever.
  2. 1) What they do with 3B. If they sign/trade for someone, which position does Gamel play at AAA? 2) Who's going to fill out the rotation? It's not likely to be CC or Sheets or Lowe or Burnett and will probably be someone we don't expect. 3) Prince Fielder: I highly doubt he will be going anywhere this offseason; will he be able to put up a .950 OPS with 40-50 HRs? Because we'll probably need him to in order to have an above average offense. This will likely require another left handed bat in the lineup, most likely at 3B. The Koskie injury still looms large. I think we still have an above average club next year. The offense can be better just by regression to the mean and the right addition in the rotation will keep us competitive.
  3. I don't understand why Gallardo is now pitching. If he was readily available, he should've started the damn game.
  4. I've had my playoff beard since we missed the playoffs in 2007.
  5. I'd probably move Weeks up ahead of Hart. He's been outperforming him for months. In fact, if you are ok with Hall K's in the 2 spot, why not put Weeks there? It'd be nice to have Cam and Weeks' speed ahead of Braun and Fielder to score from 1st on XBHs.
  6. Woes solved.

  8. Hasn't TBS used TNT as a backup before?
  9. Twins over White Sox Twins over Rays in 5 Angels over Red Sox in 4 Angels over Twins in 5 Brewers over Phillies in 5 Cubs over Dodgers in 4 Brewers over Cubs in 7 Angels over Brewers in 6 Fashionably optimistic.
  10. Yup, I'd say Gwynn is a lock as he can backup all 3 OF slots and there's no one else to play CF if Cam goes down. Hall could possibly do it but hasn't all year, which could wind up costing the Brewers big-time and at the worst time. I guess I'd take Dillon as the 25th man because he can backup 3B, LF and RF and provides decent OBA.
  11. 1. gallardo 2. sabathia 3. suppan (though I'd go with Bush) 4. gallardo 5. sabathia
  12. I was definitely crying when that ball went out. This is unreal! C'mon CC! You deserve to win this game!

  14. I do agree with keeping Kendall in. I don't want Rivera defensively for the biggest 2+ innings of the season. CC you are unbelievable. Thank you for all that you've done for us.

  16. Thing is he doesn't have to be Sabathia to be valuable. The point is trying to put the best staff together possible. Sheets is better than 70% of pitchers in MLB. I'll take the guy on my team. he's going to lay it all out there and get after people. How does Sheets not do this?
  17. I want to hear the Sheets haters next year when we have Jeff Suppan pitching instead of Benny. I want to hear the complaints about our starting pitching not being good enough. I can't wait. If Benny sits out yesterday's game, he's a wimp. As it was, he starts with a worn out arm and got rocked and now he just plain sucks. The guy can't win with fans and I think it's truly pathetic. I'm not saying we should give him $15 mil x 4 years. I just know our pitching staff in 2009 would be better with him than without him.
  18. Never has the fate of my emotional well-being been so tied to one event. If they lose and miss the playoffs, I'll be depressed all winter. If they win and make the playoffs, I'm going to be extremely excited and $50 bucks richer (made a bet three years ago that this team would make the playoffs by this season).

  20. I am actually kind of happy Bush is going tommorrow rather than Sheets. Bush pitched well his last time out against the Cubs and we just can't count on Sheets at all. ? I thought the plan was Sheets going on Saturday (post #50)
  21. Lou, why intentionally walk the bases loaded? There's one snafu that Brewer fans would've been all over Ned for.
  22. Which would you rather have had offensively these last two months, an outfield of Gross-Cameron-Hart, with Braun at third; or an outfield of Braun-Cameron-Hart, with Hall seeing significant playing time, even in a platoon? It's a no-brainer for me, I'd take my chances with Braun at third. Offensively, sure. The problem is that you have to think about defense. At least Hall and Counsell have been pretty good defensively since Branyan went down. Braun was "historically bad" at 3B last season. Even with Hall hitting worse than almost every other major leaguer, I still go with the move of Braun to LF. I just don't think management would want to have Braun try to re-learn the position in the middle of the season when he wasn't good at it in the first place.
