  1. agreed and its the smart thing to do. I dont see the point in trading away top assets to make a run, unless you think you can catch lightening in a bottle and somehow win your division and then beat the dodgers and braves in the playoffs.
  2. I was so wrong on Horst when he was hired, but to be fair to me. I was more upset at the process rather than the guy. They had their GM in waiting in Zanik and because the group couldn't agree, they hired a consensus pick.
  3. I get watching people go nuts for "stupid things" but sending down literally your best hitter is not stupid, its career suicide. I agree people overreact here and every else in sportsville, but that would be warranted. sending down the current NL Player of the week has probably never been done before.
  4. I agree, he gave up a deal for a team in Moscow for a partially guaranteed 1st year and non guaranteed second. Had to have a desire to play for bud in hopes of revitalizing his career. Anyway, the depth on the bench is outstanding to the point some pretty darn good players will get DNP’s most nights.
  5. wish they would have gotten some more help at the point after loosing Brodgon, but in todays NBA it doesn't matter as much as it used to who was bringing up the ball. Also they only had minimum deals that they could shell out, so it is what it is. He was compared to Kristaps coming out of Croatia, so obviously if he becomes even half as good as him, its a great signing.
  6. Bucks round out the roster with Dragan Bender, seems like a great flier as a former #4 overall pick. Really like how the roster finalized. Maybe he can find his stroke in Bud's system.
  7. they do have express lines for fans without bags
  8. i know i'm not being much help, but I think good old fashioned sports talk is the way to go. most shows are podcasted anyway, so you can go back and listen when it is convenient for you. Personally I moved away from 1057 and really have been getting my sports talk from Czaban (normally catch up on what I missed since it starts at 6am, on the podcast after the show is over). I feel like this is more than sufficient rather than listening to team specific podcasts.
  9. Yes, I think the point as to not have to go through more than one compartment. When people bring in a backpacks or coolers with 5 zippers, each needs to be opened and searched, which takes time.
  10. I did look up to see if Listach, Braun or Scotty PO got one, which they didn't.
  11. I'm OK with it, when i bring a cooler or backpack once i started going with kids, it literally took a good minute to go through all of the zippers. it adds up quickly to get people in and out. no reason you can't bring stuff in a no side pocket zipper cooler or a knapsack.
  12. Bucks also signing Frank Mason II to a 2 way contract
  13. An elite shooter is what they needed most against toronto. On paper this team is now better than last years, despite loosing Brogdon.
  14. Kostas was waived by the Mavs today, wonder if the bucks will go for all 3.
  15. Bucks are meeting with JR Smith. They do need a veteran shooter, and while at 33, not sure what he has left. I guess they could do worse for one of their final 2 spots.
  16. at this point, i would act like they did in 2007, acquired Scott Linebrink for some pen help and that is about it. I can't see selling 2 1/2 games back but don't see going all in. Acquire what you can for non-elite prospects and see what happens.
  17. had to be, makes not sense to join an organization for a week or 2.
  18. agreed, they will add two 2-way contracts and go to camp with this squad. I think massively changing the club in July (which is what a CP3 trade would do) is not smart, which doesn't even taken into account that I do not like CP3 at this stage of his career or do not like how he fits in with this squad. Bonzi Colson had a nice summer and wouldn't be surprised if he is brought to camp and then there is one to go.
  19. this doesn't make sense to me. I wouldn't trade our 2nd or 3rd best power bat and try to make the playoffs. They have 2 weeks to figure out if they are buyers or sellers. if they are sellers, fine trade away what prospects you need to, if they are buyers, everyone that can go, that isn't part of the long term future should go. Personally, i moved to team sell over the weekend, but i could go back before the deadline. with a pen like they have, i just don't see it happening this year, even in a weak division.
  20. seems like a great trade for the royals. I have never been a fan of Homer's work.
  21. Has anyone been to a game yet? What were your opinions. My brother went on Wednesday, which in theory should have drawn well, as its the slowest day of professional sports of the year, and they drew 881 fans. I know it was hot, but still. I have stated this in many threads over the year, but Milwaukee is over saturated with sports and other entertainment options. The brewers draw so well, and almost every weekend is a festival at summerfest and a church festival, I don't see how there is another corporate sponsorship and fan support to go around. Plus most families spent money on a vacation every year. If families are their targeted demographic, its going to be a hard sell. I want to get to a game this season to see the new park and see the fan experience, but concern is that Franklin may be stuck with a pretty cool stadium with no main tenant for reasons stated above.
  22. they have 2 spots left. i won't be surprised if its frazer and colson. I said Carter is my top choice remaining (actually Korver, but I can't see him signing a minimum deal here). None of the names above do much for me. They have some guys playing this summer who are intriguing (mainly Hommes and Landale). I just don't see them going outside the organization to fill these spots.
  23. i don't understand how you can say the brewers have 5 allstars, when you replace one for another, isn't that just 4. if hader stayed in, woody wouldn't have made it. semantics and not a big deal, but just saying....
  24. I think you are seriously underestimating the 76ers. Embiid, Simmons, Horford, Richardson and Harris is a very good starting 5. They just need depth. I could be missing some guys they have yes definitely a threat
  25. Besides Boston, I don’t see much resistance in the east for them. From what I read kwahi had the clippers and raptors trying to get George, which is why he signed and waited so long before doing so. Clipppers gave up a ton, but if that’s what you have to do, you do it.
