  1. then it seems like he will be optioned and tried to be stashed for depth. Seems like DS's MO
  2. https://www.anonymouseagle.com/2017/11/27/16705114/haanif-cheatham-has-left-marquette-golden-eagles-basketball I know Cheatham never lived up the potential he showed his freshman year, but this is a big loss for the program. I would think that Anim will be asked to step up and there is absolutely no depth to back him up.
  3. I would prefer not to break the bank this offseason for a starter but would rather focus on a 4/5 starter i would prefer Garcia #1, Vargas #2. The brewers will have to spend some cash to keep Nelson and Davies here long term. While i am sure the brewers can afford a big free agent contract this offseason, I don't see the sense in it. If you are correct and they can get Lynn for 2 / 30 Im for that too.
  4. Orf or Wren could be selected. Anyone else think that Davis could be taken as a defense replacemement / pinch runner. I know he is an old double A player, but he did steal 52 bases last season.
  5. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/11/process-for-signing-prospects-stripped-from-braves.html
  6. mlb trade rumors projects lynn to make 4/56 and arietta 4/100. Id take Lynn then
  7. [quote name="Baldkin That's not the official uniform' date=' it's a "wild guess" from some guy with photoshop skills. Nike hasn't announced the actual uniforms yet.[/quote] Chris Creamer is pretty good, its not a wild guess but rather based on rumors that he has heard. He nots that the we shall see once its officially released
  8. I will say that Lohse over the long hall was a good signing, he had +5.5 WAR over his years in Milwaukee. He was just so bad his last year here it muddied fans thinking about his time here. I agree on Wolf too, good pitcher minus that final season. Singing pitchers to long term deals that are over 30 are forever risky and will result in bad results at the end of the deal. I can guarantee that whoever signs Arietta will get 2 good years from him and then things will fall off because this is what happens when you sign a 32 year old to a long term deal.
  9. Its a contract that will look good on the front end and horrible at the back end. its the price you pay for signing any top line free agent starter. The issue with doing it in Milwaukee is that it makes the years on the back end of the contract tougher since the payroll flexibility is not at large as say the Cubs. Id do it, if the brewers can get away with 4 years.
  10. here are the rumored 5th uniform for the bucks to be released this winter http://news.sportslogos.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/MIL_city.png I am not a huge fan of the fear the dear uniforms either, but do not like these more. Would have looked pretty cool if they used blue, but I do not like that color on a uniform.
  11. Come on, I have been to Maryvale and I know its not the greatest place in the world, but Phoenix has way worst areas to put up a spring training home.
  12. last nights game, pretty much summed up how I think MU's season will go. Teams with talented bigs will give MU fits. Heldt is OK but there only other big is John who is very raw. Only way they can win games like this is to hit 3's at a very high rate.
  13. I never thought of it like this, but you are 100% correct. I guess if the brewers have facilities on par with everyone else, I am OK with this. No matter where they train in Arizona its still a better situation than Florida also. The neighborhood is rundown, but there has yet to be a reported incident over the last 20 years of a fan or player being involved in a crime (to my knowledge)
  14. I can't blame the brewers. they tried to find a new city. If there is no public support for the project, then they are stuck where they are. I do question why they had to sign a 25 year lease when they are paying the lions share of the project though.
  15. I said in the previous thread, its hard to justify to have the taxpayers build a stadium for the MLB team to use for 1.5 months a year. The brewers clearly tried to find a new home and couldn't and needed to resolve the issue. 25 years is such a long time though in a shady area now, and who knows how much worse that neighborhood will be in 2043.
  16. I thought the 30 for 30 did a very good job of telling his story. I think Flair has realized where he has messed up in life but wouldn't change a bit of it. I liked the line "Wrestling gave me everything and I paid the price". perfect summary of his life. It was cool to see the Undertaker out of character. There were some things that I didn't know about (drinking 15 drinks a day, quitting wrestling only to be chased down by Vern Gagne in a bar and told he is not quitting.
  17. no way he is coming off the bench. Brogden can bring some defense and points off the bench which will help. my issue is now the bucks best interior defender is Henson. yuck.
  18. i'll take it but this move obviously hurts the bucks bench further as well further weakens their interior defense. there are not many big bodies left on the roster.
  19. Bucks finalizing Bledsoe trade. I will reserve judgment until I find out whats going back.
  20. The only other NBA arena that I have been to is the United Center, and if I was just inside you couldn't tell the 2 apart. I know there are a lot of cool arenas. Id love to go to a game at Conseco Fieldhouse. I do not think it is due to the lack of memorable events. I was there for game 6 of the 2001 EC finals, I saw MU knock off #1 Cincy while I was in college and #1 Nova last season, among other things. I think that the biggest reason after thinking of it is that there is nothing unique about the BC to miss. The MECCA had a really cool court, great sightlines, and only 1 deck, besides all of the memorable games.
  21. it would be so nice for the brewers if Villar returned to his 2015 self and the brewers could rely him to hit leadoff everyday.
  22. I like Hernan as the super utility guy. If you need to give an OF or IF a day off, he is a great option. Those guys are rare and very valuable.
  23. I do have some good memories of the BC, plus I went to my first game in 1988 at County Stadium, so I witnessed way more losing baseball than winning. I get your point, but I think there is more to it than just winning / losing.
  24. This occurred to me last night while watching the Bucks game at the MECCA, this last season at the Bradley Center is 100% different than the final year at County Stadium. Personally, while I have attended at much more events at the BC than County Stadium, but really am not sad to see it go. The final season at County Stadium was a completely different experience. I went to every single game I could that final season and tried to soak in every moment at the old park. I am going to guess it is because the Bradley Center is a place I went to watch sporting events, but was void of any character. It is a nice, clean building, but not much more than that. County Stadium is a throwback to years past and had tons of character. Anyway, I post this to see if others are feeling the same way at me. Maybe in the spring time I will feel different, and will try to get to that final Bucks and/or Marquette game to say I was there, but right now, ey.
  25. Henson isn't terrible. He is overpaid. His production doesn't nearly equal his salary, but he is still a serviceable big man.
