  1. i hope gonzalez comes back but if he doesn't I'll assume Murphy takes the utility IF role and we have a bench of: maldonado, murphy, gamel, schafer. I am assuming one more guy is brought into camp, like what they did with morgan 2 years ago who will be given a chance to make the team.
  2. i'm sure Rome gets help, but i don't think KB and J-stew are writing his takes. not sure about the TV gig, but from what i saw his takes are pretty similar to what he does on the radio, so i doubt it.
  3. wreslemania is looking like: * The Rock vs. John Cena (WWE Title) * CM Punk vs. The Undertaker * Brock Lesnar vs. Triple H * Randy Orton vs. Sheamus (WH Title) http://www.sescoops.com/wrestlemania-29-news-top-four-planned-matches/
  4. I expect the vague rumors about Mark Attanasio to start heating up again, though I doubt it will happen. oh they have started http://www.hoopsrumors.com/2013/01/bucks-rumors-ownership-ellis-hammond.html I'd prefer Attanasio to buy the team, but I don't know why he would. The bucks have shown no ability to make money. I know the brewers weren't really making money when he bought the team, but they had a stadium and some elite prospects. If he buys the team, its going to be a 5 year fight to get a new arena. The problem with selling the bucks is that no matter who buys them, the only way they are going to be profitable in the near future is to relocate them. Hiesley has Milwaukee roots and has already owned a team, so it would be an interesting move to sell it to him if he is interested.
  5. I'm not so sure. The Rumble is for sure. Usually the winner of the Rumble gets a match against one of the champs. They could have someone win and cash in for the WHC instead of the WWEC. But considering the WWEC is more prestigious and Ziggler hasn't cashed in yet (I think he will cash in for the WHC), I don't see that happening. It wouldn't surprise me if Cena won the Rumble and Rock beat Punk, setting up a rematch of last year. I would absolutely hate that. http://www.sescoops.com/the-rock-talks-about-his-wm29-opponent-their-storyline-starting-on-raw/ I'd love to see a 4 month storyline of Punk - Rock. I'm hoping its not Cena - Rock again because we have been there. Hearing Punk and Rock go at it on the mic until Wreslemania would be awesome #cookiepuss.
  6. i know the senator wants to make the playoffs and i could see him trying to make a midseason splash to bring some energy to this organization. I'd prefer for him to wait it out and bring in maybe Mike Budenholzer.
  7. RAW is setting up a rock - punk wreslemania match i believe. ----- Continued from: viewtopic.php?p=824964#p824964 Original Lead: viewtopic.php?t=25550
  8. i don't believe so, but Adrian Gonzalez was the cover athlete this year and had an OK season, but not really what Boston was expecting.
  9. it looks like you do. I doesn't look like your vote gets counted until you share your vote on facebook or twitter but its not very clear the way its laid out.
  10. pirate fans must really be organized right now McCutchen is beating Braun 992-35
  11. he is very polarizing. some love him, some loathe him. I enjoy him because he tends to put a different spin on things and just doesn't focus on the 2 or 3 issues of the day and runs them into the ground like 95% of sportstalk.
  12. with the trend of teams going retro (pistons, orioles, blue jays etc) i can see 1 day that the brewers make the change too. I understand the argument that people want to leave the past in the past and want to move past 1982. The real successful franchises though have made no changes to their logo (yankees, red sox, dodgers, cardinals) and I don't hear fans complaining about wanting to move on from the past. The brewers still put out the ball and glove and have retro fridays because that logo sells. In the end the decision will be because the brewers feel like they can make more money. In addition, this season will mark the 13th season with really no changes to the uniform or logo. I think soon the brewers will do something. plus since MLB has shown it really wants to move the brewers away from promoting alcohol consumption, taking the barley leaf off of the logo and moving to the ball and glove would continue that move.
  13. the article states that 920 is getting a 0.7 share of the market. the 2 sports stations get a total of 1.9. Assuming that most sports talk listeners are pretty set in their routines and that very few people will start listening to sports talk starting on Monday, I don't see how their ratings go up. The good news is that with the iheartradio app and the internet in general, people can listen to what they want. I listen to Rome every day either online or on my iphone.
  14. it is during Jim Romes show. Rome moved from Premier to CBS sports radio on Wednesday. Jay Mohr got Jim Rome's gig on FSR. I just can't believe that Milwaukee now has the D-List, Jay Mohr and the Big Unich and can't find a place for Romie.
  15. 920 AM is switching formats starting Monday and is basically simulcasting the big 1070 in Madison. http://www.jsonline.com/entertainment/tvradio/woky-goes-to-sports-talk-format-3987uj1-185487291.html The good news is that Dan Patrick is coming back to Milwaukee. The new Jay Mohr show is now on here too. I tried to listen to it a little yesterday and its basically not listenable. He has about 5 impressions that he consistently uses throughout the show. I also find it curious that now Milwaukee has 3 sports stations competeing for 2% of the radio market. Still wish Jim Rome was on here, now I am listening it on my iphone from WDUZ in Green Bay.
  16. i don't think he is anything more than a LOOGY, i don't think Ron will do that unless Gorzelany is hurt or ineffective. Ron is a numbers guy and they speak for themselves, 170 against lefties 297 against righties. The concern is that if Henderson and Axford and are ineffective or hurt, he may lean to his closing experience, which i'd hate. The pen will be young I think so if Axford falters, their won't be many options unlike 2011.
  17. this team is fun to watch, i have been complaining for years that this team played no interior defense. now they have a bunch of guys that can rotate in and out and defend the paint. the last fews years it was bogut (if healthy) and thats about it. i was worried about their outside shooting but dunleavy as really made the loss of delfino moot.
  18. batting average of 179 against lefties, but .297 against righties last year.
  19. i feel the brewers have been trying to get him from years, nice to finally have him in the fold. its possible doug could get someone else, but with a full 40 man, i doubt it and they would try to get a starter if anything. but i would guess the pen would be as of now: Badenhop (LR) Kintzler Gonzalez Gorzelanny Henderson Axford (CL) Thornburg / Stinson / Olmsted/ Pena nowhere as good as 2011's pen but much better than last years on paper atleast.
  20. it would have been cool to either use the "futuristic" brewers logo like the rockies did or simply don't something with Bernie. I know MLB or the brewers have really avoided promoting beer in any way, but since Chief Noc-A-Homa is on the braves cap that shouldn't be an issue anymore.
  21. nope, second ugliest behind blue panel on white hat http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8363/8309613789_6e217e7f66.jpg
  22. don't like the regular one but the retro one is pretty cool. twins, tigers, royals, and nats did the same thing. I wonder if MLB designed these for every team of if the brewers had input. Seems weird that some have alternative logos like the braves, blue jays, rays, and rockies, some went white front panel, and some really made very minor changes.
  23. Avett brothers was my favorite album of the year. i was a little disappointed with Mumford and Sons, only because their debut was so good but its still better than just about anything else released.
  24. dead at 36, very scarey for all of us around that age. RIP
  25. not sure if thats the route they will take since Dolph looked as surprised as anyone after she knocked over the ladder. I think raw will be interesting to watch.
