Up to 8th on kenpom. I’m expecting a decent jump tomorrow when the new polls are released. It should be a fun 2nd half of the big east season. Like I said, they are doing with after loosing their best 2 players last year and didn’t really add anything significant. Shaka is easily coach of the year
My favorite pregame spot / shuttle spot is ice house. It’s under new ownership so I’ll have to see if it is as good for food and a shuttle. Drinks were cheap. Food was good and it was so close to the stadium shuttles left often.
Favorite spot to sit in the stadium was loge outfield, 1st base side. Good site lines and in the shade for afternoon games.
most underrated food item was the baked potatoes.
I think this makes the most sense based on what we know today, but they would be eating Hiura’s 2.2 million salary. It’s not a ton but it’s not insignificant.
are the sellouts due to visiting fans wanting to spend a weekend in LV and see their team / a new stadium or actual interest of the raiders by LV residents? i think more of the former.
Hopefully Shaka realizes that going to a school like Texas isn't what is all meant to be. College BB is filled with stories of coaches leaving a great situation to go to an elite program and only to fall on their faces. Sometimes jobs like Texas are open for a reason. Either boosters will never be happy or its a hard situation to win in, or whatever.
Will Shaka ever win a natty at Marquette? probably not. Can he make some elite 8 or final 4's? possible. Can he make a boat-load of cash at Marquette. yes. I know Crean and Buzz were as well compensated during their time as Marquette as about any coach in the country.
they took a chance and it didn't work out. If he put out numbers similar to what he did in KBO, he was have been massively underpaid. He never did that. That was worth the 3 yr / 9 million dollar commitment. The brewers will have to be creative to compete against the likes of the Dodgers and Mets. That's reality.
Marquette has not been this fun to watch since Buzz was the coach. A completely different team than the entire Wojo era. Will be interesting to watch on Sunday since Xavier is another place that is traditionally a tough win for them.
i get that, but his annual yearly value went up after 2 failed physicals. Yes its less yeas and a smaller time commitment, but it still seems to be reckless spending to me.
why would the twins sign him for 6 years when 2 teams had concerns after his physical. I would sure he would have to do another 1 year prove it deal before getting his mega deal. He lost money but his yearly average really didn't drop at all.
Houser seems like a great pen guy. He just could never get past the 5th. I agree Ashby is probably still a starter. A 6 man rotation with lauer in there makes sense . Miley was injured most of 2022, so I wouldn’t pencil him in for 30 starts
Kind of my point, if Devers got 313, the market for adames is way out of wack as well. since he has 2 arby years left, the brewers, just like hader have a decision to make in the next 12 months
