Plus, under most fantasy systems, you can use Brau as a 3B and an outfielder once he plays a qualifying number of games in the outfield. Yahoo has him listed there as well. Quite the asset to have.

ESPN Projected Fantasy Statistics

So Prince, Weeks, Hardy, Braun, and Hart are all going to see a decline in OPS despites all being on the younger half of 27. What kind of projection system is ESPN using?

One that looks at more than just last year. Very few players actually see a steady increase in OPS year to year. It jumps around a lot. I don't think ESPN has a very good system though so you are correct there. I expect Fielder and Braun to lose some OPS myself, I think Hardy(I'm mostly alone in this though~) and Weeks will gain some. Hart I dunno.

Pretty much everything espn is crappy, but I understand this to an extent. It's hard to predict the ceiling of talented young players. Fielder, Hart, and Braun had great seasons. Prince and Braun had Manny Ramirez/Pujols type seasons. You can't predict improvement on this kind of excellence until they've maintained for a couple seasons.

So all our pitchers are going to have their ERA's drop but they are going to win less games. Sounds right to me ESPN. You keep giving us the best baseball coverage around.

Of course he doesn't play 3b anymore. In the league I run manually he will be eligible at 3B until May 1, and after that he would need to START a game at 3b or anywhere else to be eligible there.

Are those supposed to be actual projections based on statistical data/analysis, or are they just some guy's guesses?

The problem with fantasy rankings is that they only really have any meaning within the context of fantasy baseball, as that ranking has Chone Figgins ahead of Chipper Jones.

I might be biased, but I don't think YoGa is worse than Juan Pierre. I don't even know if Pierre is going to start.

This is my first year playing fantasy baseball, and I'm confused which postion Braun will be drafted at. He's Lf in real life, but in fantasy is he a 3b for the whole year, or just for part of the year, or is he a rightfielder?

Braun will hit more homers then he walks? Methinks not, I doubt he gets less than 50 walks

Well he hit 34 HR's last year with 29 walks. Braun is good at a ton of things but he is a little bit of a hacker.

Ok ESPN's projections are officially stupid, i think all they did was take last years stats and add a few or dropped a few from each catagory.

(sorry I didnt realize i swore, im sorry everyone, it wont happen again)
