The game was over as soon as the Cardinals brought in a relief pitcher. The Brewers don't score off them, and the relievers can't hold a lead, no matter how big.

Earlier in the season we all had confidence that we hold on to almost any lead. Now, it's just the opposite. You just wait for the wheels to fall off. This does blow mightily.

I'm not a fan of the pitch selection late in games the last month or so. Way too much nibbling... spiked breaking stuff in the dirt, then a grooved fast ball that's spanked some place. The pitches are pretty predictable as I know what's coming sitting at home.

 

Also why is it that so often when the Crew scores early they don't score late?

 

I'm turning this off before I break something.

Lose today and they're 33-39 since that 24-10 start. And even after they ended that 10-20 run (to get to 34-30), they're only 23-19 now. Realistically, maybe we should have been focused on 2008 after all. Don't get me wrong, I'm not giving up yet (we're still in 1st place obviously). But they're not looking very good right now. Hopefully they come home and have a big homestand. And maybe we'll still have a big top of the 9th to pull this one out.
