Germano is not a very good pitcher, that is a very winnable game. You are using the wrong tools to evaluate talent if you are impressed with his season thus far.

 

Im sure he's not .74 WHIP good, but the guy has only allowed 1 earned run in 19 innings.

 

What does it take in your mind to be a "good pitcher"? Apparently for you, if he doesnt rack up huge K numbers, he sucks.

He's K'd 2.37/9 thats just horrible. He has a .198 BABIP against which says he's just been extremely lucky. He has a 87% strand rate which again isn't sustainable.

 

If you are going to judge 19 IP by ERA/WHIP you are going to have a lot of problems telling whether a pitcher is for real or not. I'll tell you straight up, when you pitch 19 innings, only K 5 guys its nothing but luck when you only give up 12 hits. No pitcher in baseball has ever put up numbers like that.

 

To try to sit here and say we aren't likely to beat Germano is just being negative. This is not some super stud prospect dominating the league or anything.
