Yeh Ned, dont put anyone in that can hit the ball over the fence......We are only down by 4 with 2 outs.

Why not bring in Dillon for Gwynn after the pitching change? That is, do the rules prohibit a second pinch hitter (and yes, I realize that you lose Gwynn if the rules allow for the double pinch hitter).

I get so tired of Ned managing by the book and playing the percentages. Ned, you are down 4, the game is on the line, and putting a PH in that has some pop (see Kapler, Gabe; Dillon, Joe) is the appropriate move there. I don't give a damn if they are RH hitters against RH pitchers.

I thought Gwynn is the defensive specialist you can steal some bases? Why the HELL would anyone think he's the guy to call on in a situation like that? I'm not mad at Gwynn; he is what he is. I'm mad at Yost for always being so confused with life.

Agreed. I wanted to see Dillon there.

I'm amazed they only scored 5 runs in that inning

I'm surprised Bill didn't say the Brewers were fortunate to get out that inning with only giving up 5 runs.

I thought Simmons is the bench Coach for a reason?? Because he was supposed to help Ned out, especially in situations like this. Is he even making suggestions?? is Ned not listening to him, or is Ted clueless too??

This would be a great time for Gross. Instead we have Slappy.

Yeah all Gross needs is regular playing time. Oh yeah, he still stinks in Tampa.

So because the Brewers fired somebody 25 years ago under different management that means they should do the same in 2008?

Ok......

I think it is not that relevant, but before people blasted my decision, I wanted to prove it had been done before.

He hit a homerun off Beckett tonight. Slappy on the other hand grounds out. I know I'd rather have Slappy!

LOL nice catch Hardy. And how did they get Bourn there?

I think Cameron was onto something that last half inning... pretend Sveum is not even there. Then if that works, the players can pretend Ned is not there (not a big stretch).

He did something today that Gwynn might never do.

Comments like that are the jokes. It's May 3rd.

It's not as though disturbing trends can't occur in 1+ month. The starting pitching has been terrible, and the offense hasn't been much better. Gallardo is done for the year. Ned Yost is still the manager, and apparently now loves TGJ as a the primary pinch hitter when the offense needs runs.

I know there is plenty of time, but things aren't exactly looking up at the moment.

The starters haven't been terrible ... this series aside, they've done their part to keep the team in games when the offense did nothing.

Projections just look at past performance and tries to make an educated guess about performance. If you don't think past performance tells us anything, you think that Counsell should be expected to hit just as good as Prince Fielder this year. Is that really what you think or have you put no effort into actually thinking about this stuff before dismissing it WITH BIG CAPS?

Is that a serious assumption?

Plus, players that have only been around 3 years shouldnt have enough info to make an educated guess on them.. Well I guess it could make the guess, but most likely it will be off.. I just dont like projections.

Ben Sheets has been amazing, and Gallardo was very good in his 3 starts. Ben Sheets only pitches once every 5 days. Gallardo is done. Here are the ERA's of the other 4 starters:

Suppan: 5.19

Villanueva: 5.56

Parra: 5.86

Bush: 6.46

Not a good situation.
