I was at the Sox/Twins game on Sunday when Slowey got absolutely lit up. If Bush can keep the ball down and in the park, I like our chances.

Fortunately, the Twins are last in MLB in homers. Of course, they'll probably end up hitting 2 a game this weekend.

BTW, I was surprised to see that, despite the Brewers' slow start this season, they are now 5th in MLB in homers, only 5 away from 3rd place.

That's a good call. If Bush gives up more than one homer he should be embarassed. Or should the Twins be embarassed if they don't hit more than one home run...? Either way I'm liking our chances, the Twins have certainly been reeling on the road the past week.

As always, wOOgiE22 makes some very fine pitcher photo choices.

Dave Bush looks downright menacing, despite an absence of facial hair; while Kevin Slowey's picture makes me think just a little bit of late character actor Robert Donner:

(my image choice is a little strange, but I chose it for its multiple shots)

Anyway, while watching tonight I'm going to call the Twins starter Yancey for old times' sake.

Go Brewers!

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I can't tell you how excited/nervous I am for this series. I live right on the border of Min/WI and most of my friends are twins fans. I will be in Min this whole weekend too and I can't tell you how much a sweep or even 2 of 3 would just make my weekend. I love this rivalry and I'm glad we get to see them 6 times a year. Any of the fans on here that live near Min can completely understand how big this is over here. Can't wait.

Yep, I lived in MN for eight years. Brewers-Twins, Packers-Vikings, Badgers-Gophers...these matchups are all very intense along the border.

When I moved over there, I just hated the Bears, but in about two weeks, it had switched to the Vikings. I've been back over here for ten years, and I still hate the Vikings - living over there did that to me.

Splitterpfj, I hear what you are saying. Most of my college roomates were from the cities and I learned to hate the every team from MN. I want to be able to cheer for the twins when they aren't playing the Brewers but I still can't get myself to. I secretly want them to loose all the time. I will never cheer for the Vikings or Gophers though. I can't even cheer for the wild and we don't have a team. Oh well.

Dave Bush? Oh well, Slowey sounds just as awful. I hope Billy lights up against him, he needs a confidence boost.

I will be making my way down early through the flooded countryside. Hopefully 41 south is open by now. I guess that's why I'm leaving early, in case of a flood.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

dave bush at home = great chance of a brewers victory. getup - there's your confidence factor right there!

Yes, he's 4-0 at home. I didn't realize that until you pointed it out. I hope I don't hex him by coming to the game.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

the Baker/McClung matchup should be good just because of McClung. I mean, how many ginger pitchers have ever really made it in the majors?

Yeah, we're not fans of Minnesotans vacationing in our state but we gladly take their money!

I didn't even consider the Bears a big rival until a couple years ago, the Vikings rivalry was all that mattered. That said, I don't mind rooting for the Twins against hated AL teams.

It looked like BBTN spent a lot of time talking about the Brewers last night but I was somewhere where I couldn't hear it. Did anyone see it? What was the takeaway?
Posted
Vina basically said the Brewers are starting to hit better and have decent pitching so they aren't out of it yet. Said they will be able to add pieces at the deadline and to watch out for them due to the Pujols/Soriano injuries.

Unless I missed something,...I thought his record was 2-6?

They are 4-0 in games he has started at home. He only has 2 official victories.
