Doug Davis's Splits

Davis is 2-1 in his career against Kansas City despite a 5.74 ERA in six starts, and has no decisions and a 9.95 ERA in three outings at Kauffman Stadium. He has struggled on the road this season, posting a 6.87 ERA vs. 3.67 at home, but had something to build on in his most recent start. Pitching at Miller Park against the Tigers, Davis worked seven scoreless innings, allowing three singles while walking one and striking out nine.

Brandon Duckworth's Splits

Duckworth makes his third start as a Royal since being acquired from Pittsburgh and his first at Kauffman Stadium. He took the loss in his Kansas City debut June 13 at Los Angeles, allowing six hits and two runs in 5 2/3 innings. Duckworth had the same line five days later at Houston but got a no-decision. He threw 94 pitches in each outing.

here is a nice 3-post sequence from yesterday's IGT at "Royals Corner":

Re: 6/23/06 - Brewers at Royals

Well after 3 games against a minor league team, we are back playing in the bigs. Bring back Pitt!!

Oh boy... Sonic Slam Inning. I predict we hit a home run - Johh Buck

(the use of the expression "oh boy" really amuses me... happy go lucky and inevitable failure all rolled into one.)

Re: 6/23/06 - Brewers at Royals

I predict a few more weak grounders and maybe a few hits that result in a few more stranded base runners.

Man this game has been agonizing.

Astros and Reds lost today. A loss by the Brewers tonight would be frustrating.

I was hoping you were going to predict that we lose this game like you did yesterday.

But, today, I predict a win.

All these games are must wins if we wanna get into october. Playing 500 ball is not going to get this team in the postseason, now's the perfect time to get hot, while everyone else is getting cool.

Hmmm, apparently they don't realize how it went when the Brewers played the Pirates last month.

C'mon, Sharpie, how about a sharp outing tonight!

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Is it raining in KC tonight? I thought I heard Uecker say something along the lines that he hopes we have baseball tonight...

Oops, I did not realize this game starts at 6:00. I just turned on the radio and the pregame show is already on.
Posted
Daron and Bill were saying the game will probably start in about an hour and fifteen minutes.

AJAY...I think they met the game will start soon, but rain is supposed to return in an hour and fifteen minutes...that's how I understood it anyways...

Guess not...it won't start until at least 6:30, at least that's when they'll be back to update us...but then why did Darron say in the pre-game if Doug can pitch quickly we can get through it in an hour and fifteen minutes? I was left confused...oh well...Anyone know anything good on tv until we get back underway? I'm contemplating Mythbusters on Discovery, or Modern Marvels: Axes, Swords and Knives on History....any other suggestions?
