Zach Greinke's hot start make him more likely or less likely to get traded?

The guy went 43 (i believe) scoreless innings before giving up an earned run this weekend. He's 5-0 with something like a 0.50 ERA. I know we tossed his name alot in the offseason, and he appears thus far to be this year's "it pitcher".

 

EDIT: Just looked it up, and he signed a 4 year contract extention prior to this season, so there really is no reason for KC to trade him unless they are blown away with an offer. Looks like we (and other) teams missed the window on this one.

They have him signed through 2012, so I really doubt they trade him right now, since they have him on a relatively affordable contract. The Royals are probably on the verge of being contenders in a somewhat mediocre AL Central.

Less likely. The Royals are one of those teams that perennially try to patch things together because they think they have a shot at the division.

My best friend is the Coach at Apopka Highschool, FL and said he may have gotten into trouble for participating in there Alumni fund raiser. Well maybe not so much that he played, but that he played center feild. My friend jokes that his team is so loaded with pitching that ZG had to play outfeild. Would love to see him with brewers. I dont know much you know about him, but he is a stroker at the plate. He still takes regular BP and lobbies everytime he gets a chance to pinch hit. He would be a terror in the NL. Probably would not hit ninth when pitching.

With his recent success, I see no reason that they'd trade him before his walk year, unless someone was willing to pay an incredibly absurd price for him.

They signed him to an extension this winter, so the chances of him being traded even without this start were basically zero.

Plus the Royals are in 1st place and drawing pretty well this year (for them anyway). He's not going anywhere.

We can't trade for him, but can we adopt him as a small market hero? Go Greinke Go.

I am guessing, based on his start, that they'd be asking for Braun. Enough said.

 

Just for fun to think of a package they'd be asking for, you'd probably have to give them Escobar/Gamel/Lawrie/Jeffress and they still would turn us down.
