I'm actually not all that worried about Suppan tonight considering he's going against a pretty weak Braves lineup -- just avoid Chipper like the plague and he should be fine. Let's get that series win locked up before the Crew has to face the second coming of Cy Young tomorrow. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

It is going to take some clutch at bats today and a little luck for us to pull this one out. Vasquez is very solid.

With first open, I had no problem with Suppan pitching around Chipper. Take your chances with a slightly less dangerous McCann.

What are these guys smoking up there? Corey didn't fool anyone! Escobar HAD to go halfway in case Hart catches that ball. It only dropped a couple feet in front of him, saying Escobar screwed up is dumb. First marveling at Yovani's "changeup" that curved with a foot of break to strike out Garret Anderson yesterday, and now this. These guys are embarrassing sometimes...

What a perfectly predictable sac bunt. How about trying to get a hit once in a while and catch the defense off guard.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

Suppan is a bad hitter but a good bunter and it was successful, what's the problem?
I have previously explained why I don't like sac bunting. I have also provided links to previous discussions of sac bunting. You like it and I think it is wrong. The only reason to sac bunt is if it is to try for a hit or late in a close game. That situation was neither. When the defense knows it is coming, it is just giving up one of your 27 precious outs.

That play by Braun is a good example of why triples as a stat are a joke.

I dont know what was talked about in the last conversation but I am pretty sure this is a totally different situation. A bad hitting pitcher is not going to hit with a guy on first. That would just be really dumb to do. He would probably not move the runner and a double play is a possibility. I think I will take the man at 2nd with one out every time.

In addition, according to what the announcers said another time, the pitcher does have the option to pull the bat back and try to slap one by the infielders, if they are overplaying the bunt.

Fielder!
