Whoever signs him will probably get a ton of media attention, 30 bombs and a 1.000 OPS...

really, i feel bad for this team...all that press and excellent hitting...what will they do?

I think The big hurt goes back to the A's, so I would put my money on a sleeper like Seattle. And when that happens I will immediately become a secondary (nobody beats out the Crew) fan.

I heard he is a lock to stay in the Bay area, but does he need to be a DH? How can Frank Thomas and Bonds be both on the A's?

I don't think he'd need to be a DH, as he could still likely play a decent first base. At what he'll be paid, though, I wouldn't want to take any unnecessary risks with those glass knees.

Maybe team Balko.....who knows? I wouldn't waste my money on a steriod taking fool that can't run. The ONLY way I would waste my money on him is for the publicity it might bring my team.

Bonds would be perfect for Texas. Let him DH. He'd rake in a pitcher's park, surrounded by other decent hitters. Some people think he won't go away from the west coast, but I bet he ends up here. It's just too natural of a fit.

I thought this from a rotoworld link was pure comedy:

If the Giants choose not to re-sign him, Barry Bonds won't be picky about where he spends 2007, agent Jeff Borris said.

No way no how Invader! Sounds like you have a soft spot for Bonds, but that to me is like taking a leak on a cross. That's just not something you do, man! Does not compute! Dishonorable to all things sacred in baseball, especially Milwaukee and Henry Aaron.

From a purely business standpoint, any team should want Bonds. He is probably good for an extra 1 million in attendance. Even though the majority may be there to boo, they are paying for the tickets, parking, buying up concessions. The additional attendance will more than offset his salary. So, I am looking for a low attendance team that has room to pack in the extra fans to pick up Bonds. That is why I think Oakland or Tampa Bay may be the destination.

But in all reality, SF will end up ponying up whatever Bonds wants when they realize that their attendance and associated bottom line drop significantly with his departure. I vote Giants as the team that picks him up.

I have this feeling his ego wont let him sign with any team for under 2yrs/30mil. with that being said its not out of the realm of possibility he signs with no one before spring training. At that point some AL team like Baltimore will realize they dont have the guns to compete and pony up that kind of silly money.
