I am fairly sure I am thoroughly unimpressed with Jim Edmonds so far. I also don't understand Gallardo being out there right now. It's not as if our bullpen is overworked right now and we need our starter to eat some innings for us.

It's not Edmond's at-bats I'm all that concerned about. He bobbled a ball in right field, and then made a pretty bad base running error. A guy with 95 years in the league shouldn't be making that kind of mistake. Just my opinion.

Carlos Gomez is on pace for 162 Home Runs.

(I've been waiting all day to say that; never expected he would be the guy I used that bit with.)

Agreed. Its not that I am upset over 3 AB's. The last few years of work havent shown Edmonds to be a very good player. So the fact that we are judging him on one spring training is what makes me a little nervous. That coupled with the fact that I hav never liked him make this game start to confirm my fears.

Ryan Braun bunting.... and discuss.

Like the play by Braun there, down 2, bases empty, 3B on the back of the dirt, power hitter next. Bunt is a very smart play there.

Macha is terrible. Why would you not send Hart up to bat against the lefty? Even against a righty, I'd prefer Hart rather than Edmonds against a lefty.

It's too early to "burn" your only RH bat. /blue

I thought it was going to be a Harthating year but alas, it looks like the fans will just hate our right fielders.
Oh, I only dislike one of them.

OT: Jason Heyward just hit a three run homer in his first career at bat off of Carlos Zambrano. The Braves have also hung a six spot in the first on Zambrano and there's only one out. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

I was just about to post this. It really brought a smile to my face to know that big Z is getting lit up.

Now that's a silver lining.
