The lineups are just guesses at the moment. I don't see them anywhere and I'm sure some people are ready for the thread to get started today.

Also the links for media coverage aren't accurate yet either. I'll get those when the respective sources turn them on for the day.

If anyone encounters any issues with the new IGTs, drop me a note so it can be worked on.

Let's get this thing goin' already!

Going to head out to Milwaukee soon. According to the Brewers Facebook status, for the first time in Miller Park history, the roof will be open on Opening Day! Can't wait!

So you take the guy who grounds into a bunch of double plays and bat him behind your slowest runner. I just really don't get Macha at times.

Finally!

I am excited for the open roof--I love MP, but roof closed day games are terrible.

This will probably be my last Opening Day for a long time, so I'm going to enjoy it today.

GO BREWERS!!!

For those unable to watch this afternoon, or who want a second look, FSWisconsin is replaying the whole shebang tonight. 6:30 PM CDT for the hour-long pregame, 7:30 CDT for the game.

This morning a colleague brought a poster-sized Brewers insert from yesterday's Journal Sentinel, since he thought I would like it. It's got a large photo of Ryan and Prince doing their post-homerun punch throwing routine. I'm trying not to squeal out loud in the library. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

May I just add that I will be mildly disappointed if we don't see any posts in this thread from the ballpark today? I know enough of you are gadgeted enough to make it possible.

That's a bit of an odd lineup. Gomez I can understand hitting second (I also understand that it's a horrible decision), but when you only have two lefties, why hit them back to back? I know Prince generally crushes lefty specialists, but why not at least tempt the opposing manager into burning an extra pitcher in the late innings?

I've had enough! Somebody start up firekenmacha.com!

And thanks, pretendastronaut, for all the work you've put into the in-game threads, both last year and this year. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

I'm at work today and won't be able to watch the game. I'm thinking about taking my lunch break at about 1 p.m. and going up to Mo's in Tosa to catch the first part of the game.

I will be teaching this morning/afternoon while the game is on and won't watch it until I get home. Heck, I will be shutting down my computer in a bit just so I'm not tempted to peek at a score or two.

But I'm glad it's Opening Day . . .

VERSE

Well, I count up the days in a winter haze

Since the leaves began to fall.

Now it won’t be long ‘til the sun comes shining through.

When the camps start breakin,’ my spirits awaken

To an irresistible call,

Of an old American song that’s always new

CHORUS

And the robin is here,

The sky is so blue.

There’s a band, there’s music

And the flags are flying, too.

The grass is so green,

It’s like never before,

It’s Opening Day,

I can be a kid once more.

VERSE

Now will the champs repeat in the summer heat?

Will the races go down to the wire?

In April ev’ry team has a chance to wear the ring.

And there’s a rookie phenom

Who tore up the farm,

And the fans never seem to get tired

Of chasing the dreams that dance in the air ev’ry spring.

CHORUS

Yeah, the robin is here,

And the sky is so blue.

There’s a band, and there’s music,

The flags are flying, too.

The grass is so green,

It’s like never before,

Yeah, it’s Opening Day,

I can be a kid once more.

BRIDGE

So open the gates

And let the people in.

Let the games begin.

And may the home team always win!

CHORUS

The robin is here,

The sky, so blue.

There’s a band, and there’s music,

And the flags are flyin’, too.

The grass is so green,

It’s like never before,

It’s Opening Day,

Yes, it’s Opening Day,

It’s Opening Day

And we all can be kids once more.

I'm really not excited to see Jim Edmonds in the starting lineup... too much is being put into the Spring Training Numbers.

I'm glad he's in the starting lineup. I have no desire to see Hart flail at Jimenez's slider.

pitchleague, if you'd like, we could remove your board access until maybe 10 PM CDT or so. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
