Gomez camps under that ball and catches it standing up, but I did enjoy that catch by Jimmy.

I get that but Edmonds is 39 and is still smooth as silk out there. Plus I think Edmonds might still play a bit shallower than CarGo

Counsell with an RBI double! Very nicely done. I was going to complain about strike one being a foot outside, but the double is much better than the walk would have been.

I'm really surprised by the number of hard hit balls Wolf has given up to lefties so far this year.

Nice bit with Ueck there. I wish him nothing but the best in his recovery. I don't think he ever makes eye contact with anyone though.

Randy Wolf has not looked all that great today. It's a wonder that he's only given up 2 runs so far.
Yeah, if these weren't the Pirates, they'd probably have Wolf in a much bigger hole by now. This hasn't been one of Wolf's best starts...even the outs have been rockets.

Here's to hoping the offense can break through against Karstens this inning.

Edmonds misplayed that
I don't think he was going to get to it, anyway. Maybe he got a late break on it, but nothing flagrant. I suppose there might be evidence of the difference between Edmonds and Gomez - Gomez might have had the speed to catch up to that ball, but it would have been tough even for him.
