Explain this photo to me

The guy on the left. He has legs like a black man and arms like a white man. Is it just the lighting or what? I was just perusing some material about the BCS and saw this on their main page.

I believe those are the socks. If you look at the other guy his arms are much darker than his legs, so it's just the color of the socks.

Yup, those are definitely the socks, but that still doesn't explain these guys......

This thread has turned pretty funny. Thanks for the clarification. I guess I thought it looked like they had 2 bands on their legs, not socks. Socks probably makes a lot more sense though.
